Guardians✨ How did you pick your Gamertag?
Hello-Guardians(^-^)/ ！
One of me & my Fireteams favorite things to notice in this beautiful gamerworld of ours is a clever Gamertag ! Whether it's a fellow Guardian at the Tower or an opponent in the Crucible, a good Gamertag is always appreciated.
So share with us the origin of your gamertag! Why did you choose it & what does it mean to you? No judgements here(^.^)！
I'll start: Professor Hikita is a character from one of my Fireteams favorite 1984 scifi movies "Buckaroo Banzai" , he was the Japanese scientist on Team Buckaroo responsible for inventing the Over Thruster( I recommend the movie if you haven't caught it yet ). Most of my gamer friends use names from this movie.
We really welcome you guys to share with us your "Batman" names here!

1 ReplyI saw a "Cheeses Crust" I laughed. As for mine. I kinda like the Xbox standard gt layout: (Capitalised random adjective or profession)+ (capitalised random noun) + (number) So I applied that to two cool, rhyming words, and my fav number! :D

2 RepliesKanis is a name I've used for other things in the past. It's a nod to kanis major, the dog star. And all the mythology associated with that constellation. But I decided to twist it into something more recognizable. So I chose Kain as its the same word just simpler, as well as being a nod to the the story of Kain & Abel. Chief came as a suggestion from my buddy to remind us of our halo days.

My GT has been my net name has been for the last 2 decades.i chose my name in 97 with Magic:The Gathering as inspiration- sol ring was an artifact that dealt like a sun.sun is Brite so solbrite.

Back in the eary/ mid 1990's I was setting up my first AOL account since they were so nice as to give me a free CD-ROM with 60 minutes of free internet.....yes back then you paid by the hour to surf the internet. And no they didn't tell you how much time you used until they sent you a bill you never paid. That's where a stop watch came into play. When setting up my account I had to pick a username which back then was usually just your real name with no numbers or symbols. I had no idea what to use and my older sister jokingly said to use the name shroomboy. Not because of a drug thing like most think but because I had a bad 90's hair cut that made my head look like a mushroom. So when picking this name I made a typo and accidentally put 2 y's at the end and thus my name Shroomboyy came into existence. This has been my gamer tag since that day in the eary days of the interweb. It was my gamer tag on my original Bungie.net account that was deleted by Microsoft when they bought out Bungie. I was a big Myth player in those days in a very good clan that was usually ranked #1 Sadly this all came to an end when after waiting in line all night drinking with friends to receive my first ps3 on release day. I rushed home and found out I get to have a PSN account name. Well naturally I typed in what I thought was Shroomboyy. But in my drunken excitement I typed in Shoomboyy forgetting the r . like I said in line drinking all night :) So now Shoomboyy is my psn gamertag forever because Sony seems to not think we deserve to change our tags without making a whole new account. Sad thing was I didn't realize my mistake for over a year when one of my close friends pointed it out to me. Also not a drug thing I swear.

I've always had a fascination with Dragons, so as I had recently joined one of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron's bigger clans, I just decided Draco sounded better than Dragonic and could fit.

1 ReplyTired as hell one night, with my sleep deprived brain trying to figure out a good gamertag. My usual usernames were taken, and I thought "ah man, mandalorian slayer would be so cool!" But it didn't fit. Thus mandoslayer1153 was unfortunately birthed into the world. As for the 1153, I've used that in literally every username, since when I was making my first runescape account, I tried naming my character pikachu, which was of course taken, and they gave the suggestion of pikachu1153. And the 1153 has stuck ever since.

My PSN name is Turbopwny, because...I dunno Sunmofo is a name I came up with for online MUDs back when I was in high school. In Chinese, it roughly translates to 'long spear man'

And that's kinda how I got my name. I would've used my original name, but then it would've been too weird.
