Nope. The community has done nothing for any other artists that have died this year. Why only him?

Prince was a prodigy at practically every instrument he ever touched and was widely accepted as the greatest guitarist alive (most people don't even realize that). He wrote effortlessly and had legendary stage presence. He was even playing a week ago and hadn't lost any momentum. Even his unashamed weird personality inspired people. Bowie was brilliant and -blam!-ing badass, but it's not the same thing.
