That the actions we took against Japan were unjustified and unnecessary overkill. We decided we had to show off our new weapon, and employed excessive force to do so. Nearly ended the world as a result.

If I'm not mistaken Japanese were willing to kill themselves non-stop until they won (Pearl Harbor) so America used their most powerful weapon to shut them down.

That was early on in the war. By the time we had the nukes, most of the general populace was opposed to continuing the war. A blockade would have done just as well without the casualties.

Wasn't even their "leader". Hirohito was opposed to the war from day 1. It was the other politicians who were threatening a coup.

Dude they were horrible people, they deserved it... And the reason we used it was to reduce casualties. a full island invasion would have resulted in much more casualties on both sides so we decided to reduce it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Downfall .they not going to surrender, so we dropped a atomic bomb and they still didn't surrender so we dropped another, And what do you know they said uncle.

Germany and Russia were equally horrible, and we didn't nuke them. And a direct ground invasion wouldn't have been a necessity. We could easily have starved out the military engine via blockade and with Soviet involvement. We just decided we didn't want to wait, or risk the USSR gaining more footholds, so we decided to nuke two cities full of people into the ground instead. And the second bomb wasn't even needed, as Japan was already going to surrender.

First off no we wouldn't have nuked Germany because the bomb wasent ready yet. And second Russia was our ally at the time even tho we didn't really trust them, so we wouldn't have nuked them either. And if you read the source I gave you, instead of just coming up with random crap. It says it was to reduce casualties not to stop Russia or anything.

Officially, yes. But we also wanted to keep Russia in check by keeping them from gaining footholds into other countries. Which, in hindsight, has been a VERY bad idea.

The issue is that the military officially stated a reason. The other reasons are hearsay or undocumented rumors, but look at our actions surrounding Russia/USSR activity. We never liked them, were determined to "stop communism", etc. If we hadn't decisively cut the war short, the Russia would have gone into Indo-China first, and that would give them a majority of Asia. Fun Fact: The Emperor of Japan was against the war from day 1.

lol Bruh they were planning on infecting lice and fleas with small pox and other diseases and dumping the fleas all opver the US which wouldve killed us all. They attacked us first

Do you honestly think that an attempt like that would have succeeded in doing anything? It would have, at most, been a distraction, and Japan's military engine was rapidly losing steam, and we could easily have starved out their military capability, since the general populace had basically abandoned support for the war. We just decided to show off the fruits of the Manhattan Project, and chose to devastate two cities to make a point.

Do you understand how hard if not impossible it would be to exterminate all the infected fleas? It really wasnt to show off the bomb. Most regret using it. It worked to perfection anyways. Japan stopped attacking. Japan wouldve fought to the death had we used conventional means which wouldve resulted in who knows what death toll to the US

We had advanced medical capabilities and widespread applications of pesticides. Wouldn't have been hard to curtail the attempt. Also, we had other options, besides a ground war. Blockade, USSR assistance, etc. But noooo, we chose to destroy countless lives and spark something that could have ended the world. And something we're still feeling the aftershocks of.

It wouldn't have been 100%, no. But between public works such as pesticide sprayings, etc. and the ability to rapidly treat cases that did pop up, we would have been fine. Not to mention that the majority of US citizens had been vaccinated, so transmission was dodgy in the first place.
