  • Destiny - How to Get the Lord of Wolves Shotgun Complete the Elder Cipher Exotic Bounty and unlock the Lord of Wolves. 9 months ago by Bill Lavoy about Destiny This page will show you how to get the Elder Cipher Exotic Bounty, which will then allow you to unlock the Lord of Wolves Shotgun. This is part of the Destiny: House of Wolves expansion. Lord of Wolves The first step to get your hands on the Lord of Wolves is to first get the Elder Cipher Exotic Bounty. This is only obtained by killing the final boss in either the level 34 or 35 Prison of Elders, and it’s not a guarantee. You may run this activity several times and not get it. For instance, we have never gotten it from the 34, but have from the 35. That is probably your best bet if you want to get your hands on the Lord of Wolves. It’s also important that you have an open Bounty slot, as this will not go to your Postmaster, and you get it by killing the final boss, not from the Treasure Room. This means you technically don’t need a Treasure Key to get the Elder Cipher Exotic Bounty. Once you have the Bounty, take it to Variks at The Reef and have him look at it. He will tell you to choose between the three weapons, but your decision is not yet final. If you change your mind you can choose a different weapon at the end. For this guide we’re going to choose the Lord of Wolves. The next step is to return to the Prison of Elders and play on level 32, 34 or 35. You will need aTreasure Key, as the Queen’s Cipher that you are seeking is found in the big chest in the Treasure Room at the end. It’s not a guaranteed drop, so if you don’t get it you’ll have to run the Prison of Elders until you do. This can take more than two attempts. Make your way back to The Reef and speak with Variks again. He will tell you that you need to wait, and how long depends on each individual player. Some people wait a day, some more than two. There is no way to tell so just keep checking in from time to time. When he finally summons you, Variks will have you complete one more task, and that is to earn 1,000 points in the Prison of Elders. The breakdown for how you earn them is as follows. •             Level 28 Boss = 75 •             Level 32 Boss = 200 •             Level 34 Boss = 350 •             Level 35 Boss = 450 This step will require at least two runs through the Prison of Elders. We say at least two because you can get 75 points from the Servitor on the run you do in the 35. If you feel confident in that option, run the 35 twice and you should be good to claim your weapon. With all of your points earned, head back to The Reef and speak with Variks one final time. He will allow you to choose a gun, and based on the fact you’re reading this article, you’re probably looking to get the Lord of Wolves. With gun in hand, set out for some adventures, and let us help you along the way. Take a look at our Destiny: House of Wolves Walkthrough and Guide to see if there is anything we can assist with.
