Unlike some of the guests, Augustine ate, and ate well. At his third plate he took the time to look around at his surroundings, admiring the architecture.
As his eyes drifted, they fell upon the Summoner, who upon looking at, he mind briefly fell blank, a rare occurrence for the creative Magi, followed by a dull pain in the side of his skull, like something was missing from his memory, removed.
Setting down his utensils, he stood up, then moved further from the gathering of people, attempting to clear his mind, trying to figure out what he was missing
What.... am I missing?

You glimpse the giant painting of Fulgrim, it watches you as you move, it's expression frightful.
-
Odd. He approaches the painting with a curious experession Is it just me, or are you watching me?
-
The great noise of the chamber drifts away from your mind as if you were being pulled under water. Your extremities go numb then begin to tingle as if you're losing control of your body. The painting's eyes open wider.. And wider... And wider.... AND WIDER..... Your mind explodes out of your body as if it was shot from a cannon. It beams through the air of the chamber directly towards the painting but time slows down to a stand still as Fulgrim makes eye contact with your mind's eye. You're soul is about to be devoured. In slow motion, his mouth opens, dislodging and opening far too wide. In the back of his throat you see a churning maelstrom of warp energy, spinning like a great hurricane. At the center of the abyss, you see stars of a distant galaxy. The view gets larger and larger until something deflects your mind. Your mind veers off to the side and bounces off a warding rune inlayed invisibly on the wall, then heads back toward your body - you see the demon in the painting now. The painting is alive. Your mind slams back into your body, hurling you backwards through the air and crashing into a table of chaos legionnaires. The stand and draw their weapons and the whole chamber looks at you.
-
As he regains his bearings, he speaks to himself quietly A powerful ward.... and even more powerful Daemon. He taps his side, a Rune briefly glowing before fading He climbs off the table, and holds his hand out, his Tome materializing You may want to rethink your choice in decore. This painting is either possessed by a Daemon, or being controlled by one from the Warp. He makes a Sigil Revela Tenebrae. A light gray band of magik energy formed around him, odd symbols inscribed on it It was targeted towards the painting, forcing it to reveal it's true nature, one way or another

The Summoner stands between you and the painting. "It's just a portrait of a dear friend, nothing more, nothing less." Says the Summoner in front of the great audience. "Now please, continue to feast" he finishes, addressing the crowd. You are aware that the Summoner is suppressing your power from the painting. "As you were, mortal." He says to you.
-
How long do you expect to hid your manipulations? Others will notice, Summoner. And at the slightest crack in concentration, I will reveal the truth.
-
The Summoner eyes you with interest. "You and I must have words in private." Says the Summoner and he motions you to follow him. You're flanked by the Summoner's Honor Guard as they escort you to his private chambers.
-
He follows silently, glancing at the Honor Guard before entering Is this where you attempt an assassination? Or to bind my soul in the Warp?
-
You follow the Summoner into a dark chamber, dimly lit by brazier torches, lightly crackling with emerald flames from the aether. "This chamber is secluded and safe to talk... I have to tell you that I am in no way in control of this ship. The ship has become completely conscious, and possessed by something worse than me..." Says the Summoner's as aura shifts. "...And worse yet, every painting of the Primarch is a possessed by something. I think whatever it is, it's related to what's happened to the ship." The Summoner looks you in the eye. "We are at the mercy of this ship, and whatever has possession of it. We still remain in control of about 40% of a variety of ship systems. We still don't know how much we can do, the Bloodwrath is resisting us.." The Summoner makes an unsettling expression of anger when he utters his next words. "The ship plans to sacrifice us.."
-
He glared at the Summoner a moment, before speaking Sacrifice us to what, exactly. And why... can I not recall how I came aboard it? Was it the being possessing the ship, or you?
-
"The Bloodwrath chose powerful souls for the sacrifice. You cannot remember because the ship itself is suppressing your memory. I can tell you how it happened, but now is not the time. I can't have any of you know this yet or the ship will take action against us... It would not be pleasant."

So then, what is your plan then? I'll not be the only one who notices paintings eyes' following me.
