Bungie please explain how this happens

So let me start off by saying I'm still in the group that loves playing Destiny. Even though for the most part I'm a solo player. With the April update I was excited about the new activities that I as a solo player would get to participate in. The issue I seem to be running into though is increasing my light level. Before the update I wasn't having an issue other than finding the time to find a P.U.G. and run the raid. And from what I read in the patch notes it was going to get easier. But I guess I'm in the minority that this update is having the opposite affect on. Last night I received three exotic engrams, two special and one primary. I was pumped!! But to my disappointment I received three Universal Remotes none of them increasing my light level, not even a point higher. Now I'm aware that I need to have my highest gear equipped which I always do before decrypting engrams and in the past has always worked for me. But like I said since the April update it seems like I have to decrypt a dozen engrams to get maybe one or two increases in my light level. So I ask, what the hell Bungie? I don't mind grinding I know it's part of the game. But this is ridiculous!! Please tell me this type of issue is going to be looked into. How can RNG be so bad that someone gets three of the same item all between 320 and 321 light when my primary is already 321? I say again, WHAT THE HELL?? This is so frustrating!! And with No Man's Sky right around the corner and Crackdown 3 later this year; my patience for dealing with the flaws in Destiny goes shorter. Please fix this. I beg you. Thank you for your time and good luck.

  • You aren't understanding how the system works. The engrams will decrypt at a light level higher than your overall light level, not higher than your equipped single piece of gear. You are 318 and the engram decrypted at 321, so that is an upgrade, even if you have a 321 weapon already equipped. It's an incremental overall increase and it's a good system.
