Fractured House ( Chapter fifteen : Visions )

He stalked through the walls. He felt the all too familiar pangs of ether hunger again. He crawled along and found a weak section of wall. He punched through it with his metal arm. We coughed from the dust and crawled into the room. He looked down at his metal arm. It has served him well so far, but it was changing. It was taking in a bluish tint and was always cold. He scanned the room. There was nothing important there, probably just a inbetween room the hive loved so much. He paced the room, throwing up big clouds of dust. He coughed and let it settle. A strange thought occurred to him. No. It was ridiculous. He tried to open the doors, but they wouldn't. He sighed. The though occurred again. Might as well he thought. He drew a circle with symbols around it in the dust. He sat in the middle and held up his shrapnel launcher as he had seen the acolytes do. He sat there really not really knowing what he was doing. He kneeled there for what seemed like hours. Eventually his mind began to wander. He saw dark shapes writhing, trying to escape some unbeatable foe. He wondered about why he was here, and he wished he knew where to find ether. His mind wandered and he saw a scene. It was a great hall, a sheer drop at one end. In the center was a gateway. No. A Portal. He heard a rumbling and watched a giant cabal warship slam through the great walls. fires burned everywhere. He felt time speed up, as if he was watching the world in fast forwards. He watched the fires die and he saw hive and cabal fighting. He saw a giant cabal fighting hive and taken, and time slowed to normal speed. He saw the giant was stationed by the portal The cabal was firing at a singular taken captain. The captain slashed him, before wizards overtook the cabal. He watched the giant be taken. The captain cheered and turned. Ezkor saw his face. Skintar. Taken. He fell backwards and snapped out of his trance. The dust plumed again. He was breathing heavily now. This couldn't be. Skintar wouldn't give in to that tyrant. He got to his knees. He was still panting. He felt anger welling up inside him. He was shocked at this revelation. He didn't know anything anymore. He calmed down. No. He knew one thing as fact. He would not stand to see his friends taken. He could not. He clenched his hands into fists. He knew that trying to save Skintar was suicidal, but he didn't care. He threw his head back and screeched an unearthly yell, louder than any thrall. He stood. This transgression would not go unnoticed.
