Edit: Got some troubleshooting tips for you red bar warriors. Alright so ask your mom for like 15 bucks, buy a really long (and I mean really long) ethernet cord. Next, knock on your neighbors door and tell them you need to inspect their router while hiding the cord behind your back. Plug that bad boy in and make sure you have a Pabst blue ribbon in hand to make sure it all goes smoothly. Congratulations,you've upgraded to a yellow bar ;))))))

3 RepliesWe wouldn't even have this discussion if red bars weren't given such a huge advantage in the netcode. It needs to be updated to pretty much ignore the damage of red bars and make them take increased damage. Also, I think that sterilization of red bars is needed so they don't breed since I also noticed that red bar parents often have red bar offspring. Eugenics isn't wrong to decrease their ability to breed because there is clearly negative physical and mental mutations that exist in red bars that are not exhibited in normal human-beings.

36 RepliesYou’re playing Crucible, you notice players “lagging” and generally weird stiff happening. You check and see that you’re “red bar”. You keep playing, you’re cheating, period. Whatever your justifications, rationalizations or ‘I don’t give a crap about anyone but me” sociopathic excuses, you’re knowingly preventing other Guardians from playing Crucible the way they want to, the way they should be able to, the way they’ve paid for. To all who see Red Bar Warriors, report them, every time, no exceptions, “bad connection” at the very least.

2 RepliesColor is ping not strength. Strength is determined by proximity to the server station color is the response time. You can have a 12MBps(not 12mbps which is bits or 4MEGABYTES) connection at 87 ping(desent ping for pc imo not 600 which is red bar for most pc games) and be red bar while the host 3 states over has a connection at 10mbps/3MBps and 0-40 ping which is green because he's host and other guys are green because they're using the same server station where as you have to have yours related through a station to theirs ergo more ping. Id's not usually poor internet that makes you lag it's destiny host client system which unless you have 100mb (bits not bytes) will make everybody lag even if they're not red barring. Ps strength has next to nothing to with lag. Lag is latency which is why the bar shows ping and the worse the ping you go yellow or red. Can't fix ping if you're red barring on a 1gig connection without physically moving closer to host. Ask bungie tho make servers instead of berating people ergo are probably using the best internet they have since less than 20% of the US has 30mbps+ internet.

The redbar thing is a total fluke sometimes. My Internet is fine, and I don't skip nor see anyone skip, and I get a red bar. I see green bars skipping. When we are all green.

I love red bar warriors in iron banner. I've reported them all. They make the experience horrible. You usually see they lag out or glitching all over the place. I pay good money for business class to avoid this nonsense. Some people need to up there game if they want to play these new games. For your own dedicated server you can pay $50 a month, it's a lot better than sharing your connection. Or you could just tether off your 4G sick of red bars!!!

4 RepliesOf course it's a joke. That way you can laugh off your lack of knowledge of networking that makes people "red bar." For those who do/consistently "red bar" you need to know this describes your latency, not your speed. Think of it like this: latency/ping is how long it takes to respond to an event. Your internet/connection speed is how fast you send data once you respond. Notice your bill mentions your speed 5/10Mbit, 5/15Mbit, etc. Your latency is not in the ads on TV, your bill, or (really) in your providers control. Your speed they can (and do control). Think of your ping as how long it takes to get started sending/receiving data at your connection speed. The further the distance the longer the latency (time to get started). Car analogy: Two cars both have a top speed of 80mph. One has faster acceleration (faster ping) and can get to 80mph quicker. The other still gets up to 80mph but takes longer. In a 100 mile trip the result is the same, even though one got a jump on the other they both topped at 80mph. In online gaming (especially FPS) responsiveness matters because the game will never saturate your connection speed. All you can do is physically get closer (geographic matching). In some rare cases upgrading your connection helps, but as long as you're not on DSL you got what you got.

2 RepliesBut Bungie has told us they are putting in the damage ref which is to cure this. This must be true because Bungie knows all and has been putting in new match making improvements for Months and Months and people with their skill levels are absolute in these areas. Sooooo with that in mind and the fact that the red bar warriors still top every board they are in it is clear they ARE the most deeply skilled players in the game. They all have the flawless emblems, they always lead every board even though bungie has made the damage ref against them. Their skills are clearly limitless.
