Color is ping not strength. Strength is determined by proximity to the server station color is the response time. You can have a 12MBps(not 12mbps which is bits or 4MEGABYTES) connection at 87 ping(desent ping for pc imo not 600 which is red bar for most pc games) and be red bar while the host 3 states over has a connection at 10mbps/3MBps and 0-40 ping which is green because he's host and other guys are green because they're using the same server station where as you have to have yours related through a station to theirs ergo more ping. Id's not usually poor internet that makes you lag it's destiny host client system which unless you have 100mb (bits not bytes) will make everybody lag even if they're not red barring. Ps strength has next to nothing to with lag. Lag is latency which is why the bar shows ping and the worse the ping you go yellow or red. Can't fix ping if you're red barring on a 1gig connection without physically moving closer to host. Ask bungie tho make servers instead of berating people ergo are probably using the best internet they have since less than 20% of the US has 30mbps+ internet.
