HUGE plot hole in Destiny's general storyline!

OK so you know the Darkness? It was described as like the chaser of the Traveler, wanting to destroy it at all costs and all that right? Well, now that it stunned it, then why can't he just blow up the Traveler? It seems pretty exposed to me. Or.. in that 'final battle' described in the grimoire cards, did the death star I mean the Darkness (it could be a death star for all we know) also get stunned and its 'guardians' are the hive or something? Makes little sense to me. Then again, you know, Destiny innit.

  • From what we can tell Rasputin nuking the Traveler released an incredibly large shockwave of light that went out across the system. It's actually this wave of light meeting and clashing with the Darkness brewing in the outer system that killed most of the humans who had fled to the Reef, and turned those who survived into Awoken. The shockwave likely wounded the Darkness and it pulled back while it recovered.
