I main a Titan, I use him to the point of breaking things, so I have a good feel for how they play and how they're mean't to play. Let's take a look shall we?
Things a Titan should do:
Use a CQC secondary for crucible
Be the spearhead of an attack
Stick as close to the enemy as possible
-----------------------------
Things a Titan shouldn't do:
Run a sniper in crucible
Camp in the back as if they're a Hunter.
Run away from a single threat
-----------------------------
Get it? Got it? Good.
And try as you might to say "this is horse hockey, I can use a Titan however I want", explain why on earth then that it's the HUNTERS that have the long range perks?

Agreed. Except for Sun breaker's., with the second longest ranged super* and 12 sec grenade's. Oh, or the Defender that holds ground and can turn any sniper into a one shot body shot kill. But yeah, Titans are CQC...except for Blade dancers and their one shot back stab. Or sunsingers/storm callers who best are served in the front lines. Damn, guess I have to play how I feel like. Including running so I can live to fight some more. The titans are damn good at this.
*in my experience: Ranged attack: Shadow shot, Hammer of Sol, Golden Gun, Nova Bomb, and tied Fist of Havok, Blade dance, radiances (approx grenade range) Character movement: Striker, Blade dancer, Sunbreaker,
