I think in [i]some[/i] instances there are people who genuinely dislike a particular game because of personal tastes, but usually those people demonstrate respect and provide legitimate reasoning to detail their opinion. More often I get the impression that other people like to talk trash about particular games because it is attention grabbing. After all it is popular to be edgy and confrontational at any opportunity. There may also be an issue where they have to play favorites because they can't play them all. This could be due to lack of time, lack of money, or lack of both... "can't have it, so trash it" mentality.
