So this weekend I went from 0-100 in terms of skill (again, it seems) in my Friday Night Trials runs... And that got me thinking. What was it that I did so much better this weekend than all the others? How did I go from a 1.0 average K/D one weekend to playing like TrueVanguard or ApexCris the next? I have a hypothesis! All that I really changed from this weekend to the last was the level of attention I was giving to my team. I realized that if I was always focused on how I could get to my team, I would never be able to rely on my own skill to do anything ever. So when I stopped worrying about where my teammates were and what they were doing, I began to think more about the fights I had to win to seize the round, as opposed to just fighting my way back to my team. This made ALL the difference in how I did in Trials this weekend. Try this out! This took me from barely being able to stay alive to CARRYING my buddy's butt to the Lighthouse!
Hope this helps some of you who didn't (or did, I guess) get 9-0 this weekend

That actually sounds like a very good mindset to have, and its nice to see posts analyzing things like this, too. Actually analyzing Destiny in general. But anyway: I think another factor that comes into play is the slight shock like "there he is" and the twitch of fingers when someone walks into another's aim. That happens to me a lot, but when I put all my focus into eliminating my current target, I do much better. The idea you expressed, saying that putting more attention into the current fight and how to prepare for the next one, lines up perfectly with this. Oh yeah, you said that you have a YouTube channel. How many subs? I'm probably gonna subscribe when I can.
