"So, Lass, where're you from?"
-
"A hunk of floating metal in the depths of space.. That's where." She says with a smile.
-
"Born on a ship, eh? Interesting."
-
"A massive space station... Soon after we moved to what you would call a space ranch." She says.
-
"Ranchers, eh? So your parents lived the simple life. Good on them. I was born on our capital world, Andoria Prime. Straight from the jungle, I am." He chuckles. "Lived almost my whole life surrounded by green."
-
She laughs. "Yeah it's a wasteland out at home."
-
"Wasteland? How come?"
-
"It's just barren grasslands as far as you can see..." She says with a giggle.
-
"Aye, I suppose that might have some kind of peace to it." He looks suddenly ahead, stopping. "Hold on. I think we have company. Can you crouch down?"
-
She nods, she slowly lets herself down, her leg still stiff. "Ahh..." She gasps.
-
"Hold on, don't strain yourself." He closes his eyes and focuses as nine runes appear in a circle around him and her. Aftee each rune was read out separately, they were encased in some blurry glass that spanned the perimeter of the nine runes. He whispered to her. "Be very quiet. Although this makes us invisible, it doesn't make us soundproof."
-
She nods. She stays quiet, very quiet.
-
A patrol of Chaos marines stepped in front of them. They were 8 feet in height and bore chaotic markings on their armour. Their patrol eventually continued on their way. Once they were out of their field of vision, Tulleesh broke the chamber. "We'll have to keep the small talk for later, Lass. We need to get to that base ASAP." He whispered.
-
She nods, her eyes scared.
-
"And don't be scared, Monica. I won't let anything happen to you." He smiles, speaking with a reassuring tone.
-
She nods. She was shaking, like most people would be, she was terrified. She clung to him. Despite her training she woke up on a horrifying ship, which Necrons and Chaos Marines... And she found him... The only good thing, so she clung to him.
-
He was calm, cool, keeping his focus, as if he had done this a million times. "Here. Hold this. It'll make you safer." He handed to her his shield. It was heavy, but she could handle it. It covered pretty well her center of mass. He walked faster than earlier, often checking on her to make sure she was alright.
-
She kept going, following him closely. She basically hugged his back side.
-
They cut around corners, it was as if he knew the place well. Upon looking in his eyes, she could see they were faintly glowing purple, compared to their blue natural shade.

-
It was as if a purple mist had settled into them. His eyes were darting around in a subtle fashion, as if scanning something. He wasn't looking where he was going, yet he knew where he was headed. Strange...
-
She trusted him, one hand firmly on his arm sleeve, following where he went.
-
"Should be right around the corner, past a few corridors. Are you alright? We can take a break if you need to."
-
"No I'm fine... We can keep going." She says, gritting her teeth.
-
"Come on, Lass, it won't help if you're lying. If it hurts, I can carry you, no problem." He was genuine in his words.
