There are so many songs in their catalog that are exceptional and they are so widely varied in how they demonstrate their musical flexibility and talent, I have a hard time picking just one. If I had to pick a song of theirs that I think sums them up (but doesn't go out on any of their various tangents)? I'd probably pick [u]"[i]Tie Your Mother Down"[/i][/u]. Just an awesome riff, an incredible groove, a solid demonstration of each members talent, and it just simply rocks. At the same time, I can listen to[u][i] '39[/i][/u] and wonder why I (or someone) hasn't either written a short story or screenplay to dramatize the story. I can put on[u] [i]Tenement Funster[/i][/u] and have to remind myself that this is the same group of performers that are playing a song written by a member that didn't get as much as exposure, but then the song rolls into[u] [i]Flick of the Wrist [/i][/u]and any doubt as to who I am listening to is removed. As you can see, I can't easily pick a favorite.
