The inside of the skiff was stuffy and cramped. Dregs in grey armor sat opposite us while we were taken back to wherever it was.
We arrived at a mountain range about 100 miles away from the outpost. At first glance you would not notice anything, but to a trained fallen eye you could clearly see the little buildings scattered on the side if the mountain. We turned and headed towards one. As we neared I could hear carter on the radios and made out "All Clear." From one.
We moved forward and I felt the strangest sensation pass over me, like a million little hairs brushing against me. The sensation passed and we were shuttled out of the skiff.
It was amazing. We were in a hanger bay large enough to fit a ketch, that had been drilled into the mountainside. We were shuttled along rows of skiffs towards a small building on the far left of the bay.
Inside the building was a holo-table that looked of cabal origin, a few chairs, and a one-way mirror.
Zelkir and Skoei were taken into a side room while I was told to wait. A few minutes passed and a captain walks in.
"Hello, please take seat."
I sat down in the chair opposite him and waited.
"I am Ecoi, House Steel. You?"
"I am Ezkor, House Devils."
Ecoi makes some happy chirping noises.
"A Devil? We haven't had a devil in a while."
"What do you mean you haven't had a devil in a long time? Why am I here?! What do you want with me?" I asked him , almost hysterical
"Calm down." He says to me sternly. " You are a prisoner of House Steel now. You are at our mercy."
"What do you want with me?"
"Calm down."
"Tell me!"
He makes impatient gurgling noises.
"You are our prisoner and bargaining chip. Your house will pay well to retrieve one of their own. Now tell me, why were you so close to our outpost?"
" That was yours?@
"Yes, now tell me why you were there, or else."
"Or else what?"
"Or else your friend dies."
He snaps his finger and a mirror clears, revealing Zelkir being held with a shock blade to her neck.
So I told him about the battle, about how we found Skoei, and about the taken outpost. Throughout it he asked questions and typed notes out on the holotable.
When I was finished he pulled up something on the holotable. It was a map. He pointed at a large clearing in a cluster of buildings. "Is this where the battle was?"
"Yes."
"Hmmmm." He typed something out and then closed the map.
"You will be taken to your cells to await further action.
"Cells?!"
"Yes, cells you fool."
And with that he walked out.
A captain walks into the throne room. The Kell sits atop the throne.
"Report." She commands.
"Our scavenging ships found a crashed ketch in the battlefield, they are disassembling it now."
"Good."
"There is something else too my Kell."
"What is it?"
"Scavenging ship 23 found 3 survivors. Two vandals and a captain. They are being held captive until your orders.
"Excellent."
