Ok so we all know that trades will never happen as ppl could take advantage of others and possibly just sell items but what about gifting loot? We've all had multiple items that we seem to just get over and over, while we have friends who never get that item be have dups of. So would you like the idea if gifting loot?
Now I know some people would still try to sell there dups but to try to combat this the loot gifts could only be delivered on armsday and you couldn't send/receive loot unless that person was in your friends list.
Thoughts?
Edit 3: I think the only way this could work is if the gifting in only allowed in the rewards screen. Once you hit orbit, no gifting allowed.
-
Gifting should only work in reward screens if you want to prevent major abuse.
-
Yes, but only with the people who were there to see it drop, anything else would be abused
-
yes I should be able to gift loot to people who are on my fire-team who also have my PayPal details
-
I think so, but only with fire team members in or at the end of an activity, and only then, other wise it would be abused and kinda make rng pointless
-
I like the idea of gifting, duplicates are all that seem to drop for me. Hats, boots and heavy weapons all day ! Special weapons occasionally, primaries rarely if ever. So why can't I give them to one of my fireteam? I main a titan, never had a different character yet I get hunter and warlock exotics and strike specific loot. No good to me but I could give it to a mate who mains a warlock and hunter. And they could gift me the titan loot they keep getting, even though neither of them main a titan. It could be the first, truely, smart loot system the game has had.

I wouldn't mind. If people want to buy an item on eBay or whatever, makes no difference to me. It won't ever be put in because it would eliminate the grind. Without a grind, you'd lose most players.
-
My vote is no.. But sadly my vote never seems to count.. Looking at you wife.. 😯
-
No, it'll still end up on ebay for money.

Edited by Swiftlock: 6/7/2016 10:45:12 AMDoesn't matter how many silly restrictions you put on it. People can and will find ways to abuse it, and real-money trading will still be a problem. Valve has tried putting ludicrous amounts of trade restrictions on digital items and they still can't get it right. All they've accomplished is making trading a bigger burden on the legitimate users. You can bet Bungie ain't gonna do any better.

Edited by C_Eli_01: 6/7/2016 10:12:56 AMThis sounds exactly like trading with a new name lol. Even if they had to be on your friends list you could just add them and then delete them. If you had to be in their clan you could join their clan and then re-join your original clan. It being on armsday wouldn't stop people from selling items. It would just make them wait longer, and have more stuff to sell.
-
If they're gonna be this stringent on not allowing us to trade loot like you can in almost EVERY OTHER MMO, then at least take a page from The Division and allow that 1-hour trading following its drop, and only those who were in the group. I'm at the point where ANY trading is better then this. There is more then enough gear to allow for some form of trading system, even a heavily watered down one.
-
It would be cool if we could just drop loot in the tower, just run around pooping Engrams...
-
Shut it. They will incorporate silver to such activities. FYI so they get there cut out of it
-
This is just a cumbersome trading system, no way you put it you still have the idea Bungie doesn't want
-
Edited by ijewk: 6/7/2016 2:05:27 AMOr you could have a 1v1 duel. Winner gets the loot that was bet.
-
What division does makes so much sense they have to be in your fireteam at the time it dropped for you to allow a gift.
-
I've gotten two doctrine of passing a in two days. I would definitely give one to a friend

Edited by TWiZTD DeFauLT: 6/7/2016 6:40:17 AMI dontb want to see permanant ownership transfers, i would like to see a "borrow/loan system". Eg: im part of your fireteam, and want to try the scout you say is so good, or mine sucks, or you have a weapon that would really help the situation if I used whilst you used something else or your preffered weapon. This would allow some flexibility in that you could use x, but once the fire team breaks up, you have no ownership over x. This could also remove the elitist's from saying must have x. You complain about RNG giving you duplicates, keep your spare year 3 gallys and loan them out durring the raid... Just make it either a permission based thing, or use the current lock feature, or everything except actual equiped items can be borrowed... Fixes a few issues at the same time.... simples.

People would still sell weapons and it would break the game. Like 50$ for full 335 raid set
-
People play this game for certain loot. If they can just be gifted this loot or even trade for it then they no longer need to play the game.
-
doesnt the division do this. like no trading but if you get a drop, and within the first 5 minutes or so you can give to a friend on your current fireteam.
-
Selling Her Benevolence and Matador 64 account All relevant PvP subclasses maxed Tier 12 builds for corresponding subclasses $300 Imagine how many posts like this you would see
-
so I goto ebay, talk to a guy and we become friends in destiny, there is no way to tie us to our gamer tags online and I make money on the sale of in game items.. sorry guy, it just wont work.. to many exploits. The idea is great but, it just can't work the way we would all want it to be.
-
I hate drawing comparisons, but Division did it in a really smart way. For 2 hours, you can drop it for another person who was in the team when you got it, only if it wasn't equipped or modified. I think it's a really good way to prevent handing stuff out to just anybody and whatnot.
-
Only if you give/sell your console to someone else....
-
Will never happen, people won't be chasing that piece of loot they want if they can just trade for it.
