So after 7 months of having owned BO3. I finally beat the campaign today. After beating it I finally understood why I put it off for so long. That shit is more -blam!-ed up than Batman v Superman's plot. I mean it is an absolute mess that has no idea what it wants to be. The only two missions I actually enjoyed were Demons Within and Sandman Castle. The abrupt ending does nothing to help you understand what the -blam!- just happened. There is no attachment to any of the characters. -blam!- you 3ARC. Atleast the previous Black Ops games had interesting characters. I think we can all admit we like Woods. But WTF?
Atleast I didn't pay for the game. Got it for free when I bought my Xbox One. If it weren't for the fact that this is the only FPS I can get my wife to play with me I'd finally get rid of it. Not many FPS games have co-op anymore. And she's not into Halo and as much as she likes watching me play it, she couldn't get into Borderlands. Ugh.

I was Confused at first but I looked up a few videos about it and I understood it better. Man is it a mind fuck. But I guess it makes sense if you break it down. I put off playing campaign for a while too but finally decided to go through it last month.

Imagine yourself in a frozen forest
-
"Listen only to the sound of my voice. Let your mind relax. Let your thoughts drift. Let the bad memories fade. Let peace be upon you. Surrender yourself to your dreams. Let them wash over you like the gentle waves of the bluest ocean. Let them envelop you. Comfort you. Imagine somewhere calm. Imagine somewhere safe. Imagine yourself in a frozen forest. You're standing in a clearing. Trees around you so tall, they touch the sky. Pure white snowflakes fall all around. You can feel them melt on your skin. You are not cold. It cannot overcome the warmth of your beating heart. Can you hear it? You only have to listen. You hear it slowing? You're slowing it. You are in control. Calm. At peace." This gave me goosebumps at the end of the campaign when the player and Corvus were repeating this to each other. (but damn, i'm probably the only person to have actually thoroughly enjoyed the campaign even more than the multiplayer, loved getting the ww2 armour at the end and also the mission from ww2 was fantastic because there were zombies. even though nightmares was actually another zombie mode. argh too man zombies).

The campaign was so bad. Probably the first call of duty where I didn't enjoy the campaign. It was horrible. It also didn't help that you were fighting robots the entire time, some if which took 10 clips on normal difficulty.
-
The abilities are what make the campaign for me. Martial FTW
-
I loved black ops 1 campaign. Played the shit out of it.

Look up the explanation of the story. It makes a lot of sense after you understand the story.

Campaign wasn't that bad if you played with a friend.
-
MW2 had the better missions really. Especially that snow level climbing the mountain.
-
...I thought it was good...
more creative and different than any other campaign ever
Only 3 fps games on current consoles that are worth buying in my opinion. 1. Borderlands the handsome collection. 2. Rainbow six siege 3. Overwatch

It makes more sense when you understand it

Edited by Trestero: 6/9/2016 8:35:55 AMIf you look up the theories and interpretations of it that have been put out it's quite interesting in the same way Spec Ops: The Line ended up. It's one of those things where hindsight means everything. As you experience it the first time it's -blam!-ing weird, though. Does suck that there aren't really ties to the original stuff past maybe that one mind-blam!- from I believe the first one being sort of similar. You're standing in a frozen forest.

Should he have said Taylor? Or Mason?
-
I always say "Open your eyes, catch the little moments that flash up. That last how you understand story" It always isn't just about gameplay, it's about what's actually happening in the story.
-
Agreed, it is by far one of the worst campaign storylines in CoD history...and these games are known for having poorly written, cliche and Micheal Bayed stories

The pathetic thing is that this horrid pile of trash is supposed to be the end of Black Ops, even though it has nothing to do with Black Ops... This garbage is unreal. If youll excuse me, Im going to go bathe in a giant tub filled with my salty tears because of what a major disappointment this "game" is.

So, it has nothing to do with Mason or Woods? That sucks.
