Yeah just a few things I've heard about the Rise of Iron... Well one thing I heard in particular. Rumors of Rise of Iron; which is just a DLC, will drop PS3 and Xbox 360. This is a very sad thing to hear. I'm a senior in college and right now it is all I can do to find a way to keep paying for college. The only reason I can play Destiny is because of my PS3 that I managed to buy like a year before I went back to college. I want to upgrade to PS4 or Xbox One... but that isn't going to be possible until after I graduate and start a new, good paying job. I've been enjoying this game so much on PS3 and I was really hoping the ride would last until Destiny 2. I know then that the ride will end there because of next gen. I was willing to accept this. Still am. But to have it possibly end before even making it to Destiny 2? It hurts. Mostly because of my clan... the Frozen Strikers. A clan built solely around great bros that play PS3. That love to play together. And we are all in similar situations so PS3 was the best way for us to play together. I know most of the members of my clan In Real Life. And for our clan to slowly die Before it's expected time... It hurts a bit. Especially since I JUST had one of my friends from my college that graduated a year ago buy a PS3 and the Taken King, just so he could be in our clan and play together. Frozen Strikers has actually been growing in the last few months. Picking up a couple of new members from different States that we play with, chat with, and have become bros with. These are meaningful connections in life and it'll be kinda sad when it ends.
But why does it have to end anytime soon? Destiny 2 comes out and yeah until Everyone in the clan can afford to move to next gen it'll grind to a halt for awhile. That's fine. I get that. Life moves on. But does it have to end BEFORE that? Bungie.. please say it is not so. I don't know. Maybe God just doesn't want me to play this game anymore or something. But I hope and pray Bungie that you do the right thing and keep Frozen Strikers from fading away... before it's time. But anyways... I've said my peace. Us Frozen Strikers shall play this game until the fun ends. And have lots of fun along the way. No matter what. And if any of my bros happen to read this... Frozen Strikers! Going boldly into the darkness! Frozen Strikers! Spreading the Light of Truth! Frozen Strikers! Always. Hoorah! :P

I'm sorry for your predicament. I'm pretty sure you've already heard the stories behind it. I however, commend you for not coming here and demanding that this be changed. Regardless, the servers will still run for old gen. That isn't going away. The only difference is now you won't get any new content. If your satisfied with the game as is, great. Either way, it's good that your trying to work your up to next gen, and not demanding that it be given to you.

Gg I play both consoles

You should be concentrating on your studies, not playing games. Get a job. Pay off to your student loans and once you establish yourself as a productive member of society go buy a gaming console to kill some free time. I didn't play video games or own a gaming console from high school through my mid 20's because I was busy becoming an independent adult.
-
The DLC isn't out until September. That's 3 months away and also after you'll have graduated. Are you honestly telling me you have no way of scraping together enough for a current-gen console in that time? And besides, if all your friends are in the same boat, then fine. They aren't shutting down Destiny on old-gen, they're just not releasing the new DLC on it. So just continue to play together on old-gen and then when you can afford to upgrade, do so. They aren't taking anything away from you.
-
Why is this the end for your friendship? Is friendship so fragile thatvit is dictated by next generation console ownership? You can just save up a little at a time and eventually buy a PS4 with the game. Your "bros" will be there waiting for you, won't they? I mean you've become friends in real life right?
-
There's a lot I could say, all in going to say, though, is that they're gonna keep supporting them, they just haven't announced how or when.
-
Worry about graduating. Then if you chose your major correctly you might find a job. I think your priorities are a tad bit off. The last thing you should care about right now is a video game. Lifes a bitch and it just gets tougher. No job makes it a lot tougher. Goodluck.

This isn't Bungie's fault and deep down I know you're smart enough to know this. You have choices. I assume you have some minor stream of income, so ask yourself "Will I eventually buy the current gen console?" If yes, simply make sacrifices and save for it now. Whether it be not going out on weekends for a month or so. Drop out of full-time study to pursue stable employment. Most people will strongly argue against this (Who aren't you). Maybe take this as an opportunity to get real with yourself, do you think your time and money is well spent at your current institution? Are you confident in your direction? All I'm really trying to say is, If you want something bad enough, you will make it happen. Who am I to dictate your priorities, I don't know you, but to me it seems like your education is coming second to a videogame and perhaps you could be on the wrong path.

Starting now if you save at least $3.50 a day by the time rise of iron comes out you'll have more then enough for a new console and game. GL FAM
-
Guardian, you can get a standard Xbox one (no kinect, one controller, no games) on amazing for less that $200. Now I understand that could be a lot of money, but, if the leaks are to be believed, you've got three months before the Rise of Iron drops. Thats $67 per month you have to save, or roughly $17 per week. I think, if you cut back on some things, you can afford to save that. Also check with your local banks, a lot of them give you between $100 and $300 for opening a new account and setting up direct deposit. Just a thought

You could try whoring yourself out to 500 fat chicks. Or 50 really fat chicks.

My ex bought me my ps4 and destiny, step your game up sugar tits

Sell plasma like the rest of us did in college. Get a -blam!-ing lemonade stand. Cancel your phone bill for a half year. Stop going to the bar. I'm sure you'll find a way, young one.
-
The fact that you call yourself bros and are in college makes happy they are cutting the cord to PS3.
-
Gonna have to sell your body on the streets if you want your precious Gjallarhorn back
-
Go to creationist sell your sole... Get a ps4

Edited by Auriventris: 6/9/2016 9:12:04 AM$15 a month since three years ago could of brought you a new console as of today.
-
Thats a sad story. Id bet my left nut though if you really wanted a xbox one or PS4 you would have been able to find something in your life which you're wasting money on. Been out for almost 3 years now i think... a console is what $300? so roughly 1095 days of saving30 cents a day and you would have enough money to pay for it. Do i feel sorry for you? nope not one little bit.
