Dropping last-gen should be a thing they do when Destiny 2 comes out, not because of an expansion. There's just no point in dropping last-gen this far into D1's life. People are stupid for thinking Bungie is going to implement 60 FPS into Rise of Iron, or create some "massive" experience that only current-gen could provide when the netcode is already shitty because it was built on last-gen, and pretty much ported to current gen.

You can't really compare GTA:V to Destiny because the circumstances are different; even the games themselves are too different for comparison. •Destiny released on PS3/360 + PS4/XBONE simultaneously, GTA:V originally released on PS3/360 and got a remastered version on PS4/XBONE later on •GTA:O dropping last-gen left them "frozen" on the last update they received; if Bungie did the same thing last-gen players would get locked out of Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, Nightfalls, and the Weekly/Daily activities due to how Destiny works •GTA:O has free content updates, Destiny requires you to pay for them

  • Those are good points, especially if they ToO and Crucible playlists feature the newer maps which they most likely will
