I know what you're thinking that my opinion is. "Throwing Knives 2 OP needed n3rfing".
No. No, no, no , no , no and no.
Seriously, why Bungie? What was the need. I can even list some reasons why you've just made a massive c0ck-up.
1. Throwing Knives rewarded a skillful aim.
2. They have a rather long cool down.
3. They rarely OHKD as the most ran the precision perk.
4. They were the Gunslingers only counter to other classes longer range melees.
5. It felt rewarding to land a clutch throwing knife.
If these aren't the best reasons I apologise. I'm sure you can list some better ones below.
I just can't understand the logical side of the persons brain who decided that throwing knives were unbalanced? If you had to you could have just removed the incendiary knife...
Seriously, now I'm worried for shoulder charge, despite the range of the Stormcaller melee.
For proof that the Stormcaller melee is bad just watch Nkuch's latest video where he melees someone on Black Shield from past the OHK range of a Party Crasher.
Just know this hunters, we feel you.
Edit: For those complaining that I am biased against warlocks I am not. I just have my views on their melees. Purely my opinion. I don't really want to see nerf posts on here either.

Ive always felt that seeing a throwing knife kill in the feed was awesome. Rarely see it. Rip ever seeing it now lol
-
6. Throwing knives use a melee charge on a miss
-
I remember in Call of Duty you could toss a tomahawk from across the map and kill somebody...I thought throwing knives would be the same way- nope. If anything they should be buffed...if not a one shot kill then at least make some lingering affects like slow or disorient
-
Yup, that's an uninformed opinion right there
-
If anything, people wanted it to be BUFFED not nerfed.
-
throwing knives were the one death I wasnt pissed about. If you kill me with a throwning knife or if I kill someone I think its awesome. everything else not so much
-
158 headshot damage + 25 burning damage = 183 damage. Lowest armor possible, 186 hunter. Am I wrong?
-
I can get why they thought the incendiary blade one hitting low armor builds might have been a bit much, but they didn't need a nerf across the board. I haven't played with them yet since the nerf, but if a handcannon shot and a throwing knife headshot still kills, I won't have a big issue with it, but that's how I've always used them.
-
Honestly, I think any melee ability should OHK lowest armor guardians. That is the trade off for the speed and/or recovery.
-
You guys gotta realize, despite all of the differences between our classes we all are hit hard when a nerf rolls around. It wouldn't matter who it hits because in the end it will go full circle and that first nerf will lead to more nerfs that will only end up hitting all of the other classes.
-
Agreed. They didnt need a nerf, but then again the nerf literally changed nothing.
-
Your #1 is funny. They reward someone who can aim within 5 feet of another player. If they took the aim assist a bit down, then they would be balanced, but bungie went down the wrong path
-
But 0p knifes = dank dreg trick shots 😫
-
I'm pretty sure that one of the testers at Bungie got killed by one more than once, so he decided that he had to do something about it.
-
I still do fine with gunslingers, but I am also a little salty about the update

Edited by shadowfall391: 6/20/2016 10:41:40 PMYou know what's stupid, hunters are the agility class right? The why the hell they nerf agility on hunter. They never had max agility. Titans still get max armor and they can skate which makes them faster and more armor than hunters. Warlocks don't get max recovery. Wtf bungie.
-
Edited by ZombrainZzZ: 6/20/2016 10:35:04 PMHunters have the best melee attacks across the board, if your complaining about how they were nerfed then maybe your just spoiled. Can you believe at one point people were saying golden gun needed an armor buff, an armor buff on a hit scan super SMH.
-
I always imagined the titan would stop, look at his armor then slap the hunter for scratching the paint

Salty Titans Salty Hunters Laughing Warlocks

You have a total right to fear a shoulder charge nerf. Bungie nerfed balanced throwing knives, so they will nerf another balanced melee if they want. Plus, now that sunsingers, nightstalkers and gunslingers are weaker, a lot of people can and likely will target titans for nerfs because they are now not as strong as before. Its also good to know even other class players are mad about this. I played some clash earlier on Gunslinger and you know how many knife kills I got? One and it was on a guy with half health and no shield.

Edited by Dauntess: 6/20/2016 11:51:20 PMDoes someone have the old numbers for throwing knife + burn damage? I ran incendiary blade for a long time and have never one shot anyone. I'm curious if it was even possible or if they nerfed because of kepris sting. Edit: I don't know if they buffed it since earlier this year, but knife use to do 158 damage, incendiary did 5 ticks of 5. In total it did 183. The lowest possible armor is a hunter with 186. Impossible to one shot.

Thanks

All the hunter nerfs, besides st, were rediciulous. From what ive gathered, bungie is FORCING change down are throats. Gunslingers mostly used trips, so they nerfed them to the ground to encourage the use of swarms. They only changes circle of life because everybody uses inciderary blade. They also changed the stat bonuses on all the perks because they were overused. Also, because hunters are the most common class, they nerfed it to the ground to encourage the use of the others, even though they were all equal.
-
I love getting a kill with the knife and seeing it sticking out of their face
-
As a hunter main, thank you. Bungie's reason as to "it one shot low armor guardians" is lame. So do snipers, are those getting nerfed next? Especially since throwing knives require a charge. But anyways, I've never had it one shot someone, even with the burn on. But even if it did, it's strictly because that guardian was specing for low armor. That's the risk for running higher agility and recovery.

Anybody going for an insta with a throwing knife is stupid anyways.
