All of that is very true. But what happened wasn't just a little snip here, ooh that doesn't fit, snip. It was like,
"Okay we have like 10 factions and a whole civil war the traveler is evil sub plot, cut all of that down to 3 factions and the first act of the story. 6 hours of cutscenes? ....nah lets make that 30 minutes or so!"
It was advertised as something that would take you to new worlds and meet people. Not:
>Smidgen of exposition
>kill enemies
>kill enemies more
>Hold interact button on a door
>kill enemies x3
>Miniboss
>door open
>kill enemies on OTHER SIDE OF DOOR
>ghost says a single sentence of story
>kill a named boss
>mission over
Repeat for like 90% of the game. I came into it waiting for choices and exploitation of new areas and finding cool stuff with friends. What I got was a map the size of a battlefield map with respawning enemies and collectibles.
Sorry if I come across as angry, I'm just upset at what the game turned out to be for me no personal beef with you.
No worries. Maybe the bunch of factions complicated things too much. That's 10 sets of gear and weapons every expansion. And that's just for the factions. I'm sure they'll be introduced eventually (some of them) Halo is very similar but in there is "jump in a vehicle and drive these stupid Marines around, shoot while the stupid Marines crash you into walls, or fly this alien ship (which is awesome) I really do get where you're coming from. You were disappointed. I didn't get caught in the hype for destiny. I heard about it a few months before launch and thought "oh that's pretty sweet" and then I saw the bungie logo and knew I would be buying it lol. That was the extent of my research. I had no clue what the game was about besides space and aliens. The people who followed it through development and needed to know every detail, are always upset. I learned my lesson a long time ago.
