While what you are saying sounds good I would still argue that destiny does nothing to deserve that kind of attachment. I would need some example of something that makes destiny special and not just a case of "it was my first game". To agree with you completely. My point of emphasis on this issue is more on the game than the person.

I'm sorry but you don't seem to understand. Some people play Candy Crush and Flappy Bird for 8 hours everyday. Does it mean that they are better games than Destiny? No.. But to them? YES. Some people enjoy Destiny for 8 hours a day. Does it mean that it is better than Flappy Bird? No.. But to them? YES. My favorite game isn't Destiny but I play Destiny the most. Does it mean Destiny is better?? NO. There are WAY too many factors involved in what makes a game better or worse than the next. These factors can range from being objective like frame rate or lag, and subjective like level design and story elements. If you're going to make the JUDGEMENT CALL on what makes a game better than the next I'd say you're delusional. You cant make that decision for everyone. You just can't People will love this game no matter how much you think others are better. You better get used to that, and you better respect it, because you'll get nothing but disrespect for criticising something that was built for enjoyment. A video game doesn't have a quantifiable "enjoyment factor" that you can statistically track and compare. Sure, the Penguins were better than the Sharks this year. The Cavaliers were better than the Warriors. But the concept of having a quantifiable rating of Destiny as being better or worse than some other game is simply too subjective to debate. You can like it, you can dislike it. But you can't tell others you're more right than they are.
It's like saying Michael Jackson is better than Michael Bublé. While I would have to agree, I'm not about to make that statement as a FACT and claim that I have the perfect compass of musical enjoyment.
