Dude I played that game. I respect your point about the potential of a game to offer deep characterization...but compared to any book, a game where each thumb stick operates a different character is weak in comparison. Read East of Eden. Now there's a story about brotherhood that's worth a hot fart.

You can't be comparing books to games. A book is one person who has no limit to express their imagination and flesh out their world through limitless amount of words. Games have a budget, 100's of people working on them, constraints, and multiple skills and professions coming together just to make it work. It's only been like, what, 30 years or something since 8 bit? We've come a long way, fast, and we are not stopping. The Last of Us is a great example for character driven story, Souls games are great for environmental story, god of War is great just for a rage story. It's getting there.
