The black coat of the night.
Night time, on board the bloodwrath. An unsuspecting group of chaos legionaires wish to make a quick kidnapping, murdering and stealing run on the inhabitants of the ship's safe zone. They band, their numbers many, their strategy is sound.
The midnight hour strikes. It is time to attack.
Seeping into the streets like a stealthy mist, they assault a city block, where security was loose. They enter one building. They kidnap the women in the middle of the night, to perform who knows upon them... the men who do not disturb them, they leave. But those who take them in surprise are taken as well. Always have room for more ranks.
Their first wave is successful, they return to their dark conduits to prepare for the second wave. But, to their ignorance, they were being stalked...
They return to their desecrated monuments to prepare the ritual. Until...
One marine, standing next to one of the monuments, turns to find three melta bombs attached to it. Before he can even scream out, the bombs ignite, taking the structure, the marine and everyone around them in a glorious blaze. They were under attack.
Suddenly, strange, never before seen marines reveal themselves. They surround the camp.
Armed with strange weapons, from Plasma cannons to strange ionic weaponry, they ignite the camp in a quick, decisive skirmish. With precise destruction, they leave the enemy camp in ruins. But none of the kidnapped men and women suffer any injuries. These mysterious marines free the captives, untying their bonds and escorting them back to their homes, on the eastern side of the Quarters. But before the last marine leaves, a woman asks, who are those warriors? And they respond.
"We are the Imperial Panthers, guardians of humanity."
An exotic hispanic accent laces the words of the man in armour, who then leaves.
The Imperial Panthers make their camp on the grounds of the Eastern block of the Quarters. Their arrival was, at first, unnoticed, until their numbers had begun roaming the rest of the ship. But wherever they would strike... they would be unseen, until the very last moment, where the dying adversary could see who were the angels of death.
The Panthers had made their presence known to the bloodwrath. It was both a blessing to the Imperium, and a curse to their enemies.
Open. Visit the camp for yourself, check them out.
*Mortar watches these new Marines. He didn't know what to say, they executed their plan swiftly and effectively, no unnecessary casualties. He decides that he wants to meet these guys, and follows them in the shadows, to their ignorance*
-
They could see in the dark. Watching through shadows was no challenge to them. But, they decided to humor the stranger, so they let him follow. The patrol arrived back to their camp, closing the gate behind them. If he wanted in, he'd have to ask.
-
*Mortar watches them as they enter their base. He seems fairly intrigued, however he thought that the way he normally entered a room was considered rude, so he walks up after they all go in and knock on the door*
-
The gate was closed before him. One of the marines stood guard. "You wish to come in, Señor?" He said, a suave hispanic accent laced his speech.
-
Oh, um, yeah. Admittedly, I saw your latest retrieval, and I was extremely interested on how you guys execute it.
-
"Why, you looking to join up?" Asked the guard, with a chuckle.
-
Oh, no, just curious is all. *Mortar looks at the guard* So do I have permission, or...
-
"Yeah, sure thing." The gate opens.
-
Cool. *Mortar begins to walk through the halls, looking for anything that might Answer his question. There had to be someone in this building somewhere, right?
-
The layout of the base isn't like that at all. It was a large compound with many structures built inside of it. Chapel-barracks, Mechanicus temples, Monasteries, strongholds, it was a pretty big compound. There was enough room for maybe four or more companies.
-
Oh, sorry.
*As he roamed through this city like place, he couldn't get rid of the feeling that he was being watched. Probably by the guards, but he took his icy blue knife off his back just in case.*
-
Taking a weapon out in the middle of a military way is a sure fire way to get you killed, you know.
-
*Mortar, feeling more in danger with the knife, puts it away* Umm... HELLO?!!?
-
Christ... The base is filled with soldiers, who look at him strangely for yelling like a bloody lunatic. Like... what do you even want, man?
-
*Mortar at least wanted someone to answer some of his questions, so he approached one of the soldiers, prepared for any "crazy demon person" comments* Umm... hey there. Is there any way I can talk to someone higher up?
-
"Huh? Well, there's the chapter master, he's as higher up as it gets. But what for?"
-
Oh, I'm trying to improve my "search and rescue" strategy, and I god knows how many people i had to save, and I want some tips From professionals.
-
"Well then... I'm sure he could answer your questions. Go right ahead and meet him, he will be in his monastery. Although he might be occupied, I'm not sure."

Kolandra has been wandering alone through the Bloodwrath's corridors and halls for some time now, attempting at least to perform some sort of 'perimeter guard duty'. Not exactly the wisest thing to do, even if she had friendly company. Too much was going on inside her head; thousands, maybe millions of external voices and thoughts from aliens and demons alike resonated through her thoughts, from almost every corner of the tainted vessel. It unfortunately also gave the warlock a sense of how massive this haunted house of horrors really was; almost too big to comprehend as a ship. Even by Craftworld standards, they we all trapped withing a gargantuan construct. Attempting to form some sense of clarity from all the 'thought mess', Kolandra had focussed in on a particular area within the Bloodwrath; an area that seemed to be holding a high density of imperial-minded humans, interestingly all with matching ideals. It was something at least, so she did what any naïve idiot would do and decided to track down the source of this... 'psychic equilibrium'. Soon enough, she found the camp of the Imperial Panthers. Walking out of a winding corridor that connected to the vast chamber in which the settlement resided, the seer halted and stood at the corridor's exit, assessing the new sight she had just come across.
-
The area resembled an imperial city block, but at its center was a large imperial stronghold. Many structures were within that camp, with many soldiers. There must have been around three or more companies in that camp. It was quite a lot.
-
After getting a good layout of the area, Kolandra found herself at a set of crossroads. While she'd already met a few humans since her untimely arrival on board the Bloodwrath, one was friendly enough to a heretical level by imperial standards; one was likely mischievous to also be considered a heretic; and one seemed to be separate from the Imperium entirely, not even knowing what it was. But this? This was different. A new human settlement, far larger than the previous one, and equally as suspicious, scared, and xenophobic. Oh brilliant, just what she needed. Although, there was a distinct lack of fear in a certain area; the camp. Deciding to head in that direction, probably spurred on by her curiosity, Kolandra decided to stay distant by skirting alongside the vast chamber wall as she slowly made her way around the perimeter.
-
Their patrols seemed light... Although she didn't feel much hate coming from the camp itself. Perhaps these gents were different from the others..? Guards along the watchtowers had already seen her sneaking about, but made nothing of it. They saw her approaching the camp, made note of it, but didn't attack her... strange. These humans were definitely worth checking out.
-
Kolandra could tell that she was being noticed by at least a few people; prying curious eyes never lied. It wasn't really a surprise though; she wasn't exactly trying to stay hidden. No, jumping out unannounced all of a sudden would have surely caused some drama. Luckily and interestingly, there didn't seem to be any impending attack about to be aimed directly at her; strange. No one here knew who she was, did they? Surely they wouldn't just let a random lone Eldar stray into their territory?
-
As she walked, she soon arrived at the gates of the camp. They were closed, naturally. But they recieved many visitors, so there was always someone on watch. As she approached, the marine spoke. "Do you wish to come inside?" A hispanic accent laced his words, it was exotic, a sweet tune she wasn't accustomed to.
-
"actually I was looking ground to see what I could find, but I suppose inside is safer than outside, considering where we are... uh, thank you for the hospitality, at least" Under her helmet, Kolandra's eyes were scaling up and down the marine standing before her, assessing what she was looking at. She hadn't seen chapter markings of this sort before. Largely black and white, matching her own attire... a successor chapter to the black templars perhaps? Or maybe not. No, black templars were second founding. Plus, that chapter despised psykers, even among human ranks. The animal stripes and predatory design only distanced the design even more to any fellow chapter. Strange, to put it lightly.
