As he walked away, I debated whether or not to call after him to give him back his gear, but finally decided against it. If he had wanted it back, he would have asked, and he obviously had access to much better gear. My mind made up, I turned to find something to eat and a place to sleep. He said the tavern was the best place to go for that, so I headed there first.
