So this is how it is . . .
You get killed by either Grasp of Malok or Doctrine of passing. It's a little tiresome.

I prefer the 88/8 autos since the recent nerfs to the doctrine archetype. You can get more range out of them. I don't use GoM because I hate pulse rifles.
