So while the old gen'ers are pissed that there's no more major updates and no more Trials and IB...what I want to know, and I think we all (new or old gen) deserve to know is what we'll be getting with that part of development gone.
Some speculation on what can be done with new gen only:
- 6 Man Patrol
- Larger inventory (Vault space)
- Additional sub-class
- Graphical enhancements that were scaled down because of old gen support
- Network enhancements (XB360 is only a 100Mbps port not a Gig)
- Map Size (tx Trezomnar)
- Larger Patrol battles/Events (tx digthewells)
- More people per instance (tx Levigumba)
- Better Environmental Efects (yx Quetzocoetl)
Anything else that has cropped up over time as being held back by old gen?
We deserve to know in clear terms what we're getting with the removal of the old gen.

BUMP. Would it be so difficult to devote a chunk of an upcoming TWaB to detail EXACTLY how the game will improve by dropping legacy consoles?
-
Bump.
-
Why do people think they deserve to know what the game makers are developing? Lets say they are 100% transparent and tell us everything. Guess what? Other game developers just got some new ideas. What other business would you expect to share all of their development ideas with someone who purchased their product? I bought a Coke yesterday....I am waiting on my letter from Coca-Cola letting me know what new and exciting things they are working on.
-
bro we're getting a raid and one new strike thats it and maybe some more nerfs no, no wait i mean definitely some more nerfs.
-
Maybe in destiny 2, we wont get anything new in destiny1.
-
Dedicated servers.

LFG IN GAME. MATCHMAKIN I DONT CARE. More ingame options. I wanna have custom strikes and missions. Be able to run whatever I want with whatever burns and modifiers added. Be able to select team pvp or solo pvp. Halo 2 did it. Be able to turn matchmaking on and off for heroic and nightfalls. Be able to chamge my characters hair and what not. Some freakin customization. Ability to change gun skins. Most if not all other games have these features.

I doubt bungie will make a 6 man patrol, because they don't want you to rush through stuff, but they may increase the number of people that can be in one place. They also said they wouldn't add another subclass yet since they can't keep the current ones balanced.
-
Your going to get the same garbage that Bungie is always serving up. A raid. Four or five story missions. A strike or two. Microtransactions. And that is it. No magical DLC or dropping a sizable chunk of the game's fanbase in the trash is going to make Destiny a better game. It wasn't designed to be a good game. It was designed to make money and that's about all. So Bungie dropped the old consoles. It means nothing in the long run. Destiny 2 or whatever they decide to call it will be released with very little content with promises of more to come torn straight from the main game. This is Bungie's business plan and it's working. Buy into it or move on. Bungie isn't changing a damm thing.

Edited by CatMan: 7/10/2016 3:07:50 PMMy bad forgot to bump, bump for hope
-
Maybe a higher frame rate come destiny 2. Highly doubt we would see it in rise of iron but that's been what I have always thought they really want to achieve by dropping last gen
-
Unfortunately Destiny is not poised to make any sweeping changes with this new release. It's going to be.... Same framerate Same Crucible lag Same ol' not enough content Same error codes Manage your expectations.....
-
The basic thing people appear to complain about every 2-4 weeks - Vault space. Never had a problem with it myself, but others have - and do - run out frequently. Now that old gen consoles are being dropped, hopefully Vault space will be vastly improved for those who need it.
-
I feel like RoI will have slight improvements, but still be similar to what we have now. Possible slight improvements like larger fireteams and hopefully a cusomizable D-pad. Destiny 2 will likely have much greater improvements, like graphics and so on. After RoI I expect there will be a huge upgrade, but RoI as it is using the original Destiny disc it will likely be downplayed a little.
-
Now we no for a fact that Bungie literally has no excuse anymore to not add actual content that should expand this game.
-
Edited by CatMan: 7/10/2016 1:09:38 AMEdit:It's going to be the exact same amount of content and stuff added( bear minimum ) on next gen only. Dropping the ps3 and xb are only going to give them more free time to not listen to most of the community and suck more fun out of the game...with better graphics
-
Moar vault space Moar strikes Moar exotics(?) Moar Crucible game modes(?)
-
Seriously. Because unless there are major improvements, I have to question the fairness in dropping older consoles.
-
You are in a position to demand nothing. You dont own any part of the game. All u buy is the ability to play thier content. Dont like it? Dont play it
-
I'm not expecting much of an improvement. They were out of space on last gen regardless of complexity it's just volume at this point.
-
Rise of Iron more than likely just has an increased use of environmental and weather effects, like snow or the SIVA. That stuff takes a toll on old hardware
-
More reliable hit boxes! Making a better crucible for all
-
dude... Bungie has proven time and again that they are OK with removing content from your game. although this is still Destiny 1, year 3, they are steam-rolling all PS3/XBOX gamers because... they don't give a shit. compensation for this kind of ... fucked up practice? from Bungie? nah.. PS3/XBOX players simply didn't buy enough silver.

I want a pony so I can brush her mane)
-
I would say huge patrol battles that are very hard and require 10+ to complete...and drop end game loot randomly.
-
Can't believe they haven't allowed for a six-man patrol area from day one. It'd give us all something to do while we're waiting for Gary Busey to finish his ribs before we dive into a raid...
