We've mercilessly destroyed many enemy forces that have threatened us - killed gods, even. However, when does it end? No matter what we do, it seems to have no effect on the world's atmosphere. Yes, yes, I know - multiple timelines, blah blah blah. That's not my point.
My reasoning for this post is that I'm sick and tired of killing endless waves of hostile forces because they threaten our home.
I want to go out and discover, explore, and colonize. I want to scour Saturn's moons. I want to set up a temporary base of operations, and claim what was our's. I don't care if you consider this cowardice, we need to consider the potential of the stars before we root ourselves to a long-lost planet.
I've spent most of my days in Destiny wondering when we'd see the beautiful concept art implemented in-game. I've always strongly disagreed with Dead Orbit and their mission to flee; but the longer I annihilate Hive and their gods, I wonder how much trouble it would be to send an army of Guardians in the magical direction of the Fundament - or at least a long-lost society the Hive conquered many decades ago.
Imagine traveling through the stars, landing on a barren wasteland of a space station orbiting Neptune; or perhaps finding the ruins of ancient Ecumene technology and attempting to harness it for our own success! The potential Bungie has in their hands is astonishing.
You have to wonder...
Why chain us to Alpha Lupi's current residency during its dormant time when we could be out claiming our future?

Edit: Lol, thanks everyone for the replies! So many of you agree, and I very much appreciate it. Also, so no one else says anything about it in their reply: I can't wait till August, as I've been following No Man's Sky since I first heard about it.
Edit 2: I already have No Man's Sky pre-ordered, so please stop suggesting it - haha! I am, however, glad to see the fanbase for it present here as well!

I'm tired as well. I've stopped killing Servitors when on patrol. The Fallen need them
