If Earth Is Really Round, Why Don't Distant Shorelines Appear Curved?

Round Earth belief claims that earths curvature is approximately 8 inches per square mile. However, when you look at a shoreline from a great distance, no significant "curve" can be seen. The above illustration proves this: the image on the left is how many miles of shoreline should appear if the earth was really a ball. The image on the right shows how distant shorelines actually look. No curvature exists.

  • Even though this is bait, I thought of something and felt like sharing it... If the earth is flat and objects truly do just get too far away to see, how does that explain the sun setting and rising? If it truly does circle over our head, how come it doesn't just disappear in the sky and comeback? Why does it set or rise? There's no reason for it to do so.
