Fallen Baby Chapter 69

Hey you guys!!! Put those Lenny faces away. That's right, I see you there. Fallen Baby Chapter 69: Give Her Back Bolt slammed on to the ground of the cell, claws quickly scrabbling for purchase to escape. But the Hunters immediately slammed the door shut, the sound of metal clanging a sign of finality to his fate in his mind. He crashed himself back near the Guardians, the cold press of metal on his skin ignored as he rattled the doors. Of course they were locked. "Give me back my Mom!!" The Vandal screamed, arms already slipping through the metal bars, reaching for his parent. But the Hunters merely shook their heads, and Mirak gave a sorry smile before walking further down the hall. "No!" Bolt screeched, eyes welling up with tears the farther they moved away. "Give her back!! Give me back my mom! Please!!! P-please!" The sound of a door opening and then closing was his only answer. He screamed a little more, each protest getting fainter the more he tried. But his hopes were shattered when no one answered back. Someone had to, right? Surely they had heard him! But nobody returned his pleas. Bolt sobbed, arms hugging himself as he pressed himself to the back of the cell. He slid down when his back touched the wall, hands grabbing at the necklace around his neck. "I don't want to be alone.... I want my mom...." Curling into a ball, he wept silently, the sounds of his grief the only thing echoing back. He was alone, terrified in a place where no one cared if he died. The handful of people he knew would care were used to people dying, all having known grief of losing a loved one. Having that thought in mind, he crawled over to the corner of the room. Maybe no one would notice him anymore than what had happened already. So he lay there, trying to make himself an unnoticeable lump. He studied the grey walls with dull interest as time slipped by. Nobody walked by and the silence was killing him but the Vandal dare not move. Who knows what Guardians had done to their holding cells. Sleep seemed the best idea, the quiet atmosphere lulling Bolt into a sleepy state. That is, until a loud clang on the metal bars startled him so bad he jumped with a screech. "Oh hi you're not dead." A deep male voice said out loud, unrecognized to Bolt. When he looked to the new being he was taken aback by their hulking frame. Their wide shoulders and tall stance swallowed up his own greatly. The man radiated power, presence, and an urge to do what they said. Titan. "Where's my mom?" Bolt asked, voice hoarse. The Titan cocked their head to the side, head turning down the hallway and to the other cells. "No one here. Just me and you." As the Guardian said this, he had moved to the opposite wall and leaned on the bars of another cell. "Oops." He muttered when the metal groaned in protest of his weight pressed onto it. Bolt watched, a new wave of terror waging war in his head with the anxiousness of the new Guardian making themselves comfortable across from him. But what could he do? He was trapped in the home of killers with no escape. "I want my mom. Is she okay?" Bolt tentatively asked, eyes taking in the different armor Omali or Drokantoro wore with a careful eye. This Titan sported bulkier armor, the color an burgundy shade that reflected somewhat. An unusual helmet, one with what looked like a brush atop their head, had Bolt squinting at it. There was a long bright purple line that cut vertically on their face. Who...?? "Well I'm here to watch over you. Zavala's orders." With that, the Titan sat on the floor, a magazine in his hands from a flash of his Ghost's light. And then the Guardian completely ignored Bolt. Bolt stared. The Titan read. The silence was thick, and he felt he could grab it. It was only broken by the occasional flip of pages and the noncommittal hum of the male. It was strange to say the least. When Bolt finally began to settle, ignoring the Titan completely, there was another loud bang that had him jumping. Though he couldn't see the new person, he could hear the loud stomps and the new deep voice coming his way. "Where the hell is that Fallen, Gift?" The Titan across from him, apparently called Gift, didn't look up from his magazine. But a large finger pointed to Bolt's cell and those boots clomped closer. Bolt's eyes widened when the cell's door flew open. The new Guardian shouldered their in, frame almost too large to fit into the metal opening. No surprise that it was another Titan. "I got questions for you, Fallen." And in that moment, Bolt never wanted his mother so bad in his life.
