I personally feel that slow rate of fire auto rifles need a SLIGHT base damage buff. They simply cannot compete with scout rifles, hand cannons, or pulse rifles. They're to popular and statistics are way better, making auto rifles very, very outplayed. The usage of auto rifles are VERY LOW, and I would like to see all guns equal in PvP. Feel free to LEAVE A LIKE on this post, I would love to see what the majority of the community thinks :D. I really want Bungie to do a little something to auto rifles so they are viable. NOT TALKING ABOUT HIGH FIRE RATE AUTO RIFLES. We all know about the "Doctrine Of Passing".

High impact ones do
-
Bump. Also yeah buff that shit. I have an antipodial hindsight that has a great roll bit still struggle to use
-
Yep buff !
-
The problem is missing one shot is devastating for a high impact auto, and using them in the intended range means your going against bullet hoses and special weapons that are far more forgiving, so you're pretty screwed unless you have godly aim 100% of the time on headshots. I get they dont want to super buff them meaning a skilled hand will be ridiculous but...why not? A skilled player should be rewarded and a major gripe I have with their patch decisions some times
-
While an enthusiastic, but not very good, crucible player, this IB I've not been outgunned by Doctrine, Soulstealers Claw or Arminus. Shame. It seems like another archetype bites the dust, leaving an even more limited pool or primaries to use.

Edited by Heidegger: 7/26/2016 8:28:08 AMThey're balanced enough? A. A ha. A ha ha ha. A ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Must be a reason I don't see a high impact auto users in every match. The weapon must be that good.
The only decent high impact autos I have used in Y2 are The Answering Chord and Grim Citizen
-
That "focus fire" perk needs some love as well. Yea it does decent more damage but and weapon can out gun you. A high impact auto with focus fire should dominate in close/mid range. But instead high rate of fire pulse rifles now own that shit.
-
They are going to -blam!- something up tomorrow guaranteed. So expect a 0.001% buff to low RoF autos.
-
My auto rifle kills every thing. LoL
-
I totally agree that auto rifles need a buff in a future patch, but think that Bungie have to be careful when they balance certain things. We can't say that all auto-rifles need buffs as the low impact archetype is still rampant in crucible. The buffs need to be directed at the other types. This coming from someone who plays crucible with a Grasp of Malok or Hawksaw, so i may be biased towards some things.
-
I believe that they only deserve a slight buff due to the way only two or three auto rifles can be used now but the way that they are treated now makes them almost unusable due to competition from pulse rifles and scout just like you mentioned in your post.

Edited by Combo164: 7/26/2016 3:43:09 AMI think the suros arc types is the only one that needs buffing. Max and mid rof autos feel fine, to me at least. And focus fire feels meh on suros.
-
If they would buff the low rate of fire autos my An Answering Cord would be way too good. That's said, yes, yes they should. 😊
-
Sure I think most auto's could use a slight buff BUT the high rate of fire autos (Doctrine of Passing, etc..) DEFIANTLY need to be nerfed. It's ridiculous how quickly these can score a kill. If you really want BALANCE you would be for nerfing DOP and the other HRF autos.

Edited by Arch: 7/26/2016 3:25:13 AMDoctrine is fine. I still use it all the time. Tried running a year two shadow price in the crucible and got outgunned 9 out of 10 times, they do need a slight buff

Edited by Erijian: 7/25/2016 11:50:35 PMAuto Rifles are easy to outplay because of how simple they are to use..Part of why I think they should never be the dominant weapon class; because their skill floor is just as low as their skill ceiling. High impacts autos do need some love though, just like the high impact pulses.
-
yep, and low ROF pulse rifles as well plz.
-
Is no use even with a buff you can unload on snipers heads and they will still head shoot you (but snipers are fine remember?)
-
Edited by Dr Livingston 9: 7/25/2016 11:54:17 PMwhen i use my hand cannon the programming makes it so autos win all the time if i dont take cover . i think there fine the way they are hand cannons need more of a buff. i shoot just as many bullets at autos and lose and win against other guns often. the usage of auto rifles are not low !!! out in the open autos beat hand cannons dont know how you dont see this.

Edited by Mar: 7/26/2016 2:11:19 AMabout the only real change med-low rate of fire auto rifles need is a accuracy boost, the damage on them is fine, the stability is manageable even if you hold down the trigger, and the range feels about where it should be. problem is, those auto rifle's accuracy is bad, almost really bad. even feathering the trigger i feel like only 3 out of every 6 or 7 shots land. even if the target is stationary, the bullet spread is all over the place. besides that they are balanced fine at the moment, doctrine of passing could still use a small amount of it's stability knocked down though. problem is there is no reason to use one when scout and pulse (some of them) rifles can 3 shot someone and fire as fast if not faster and are better at longer ranges. because of what PvP is (engagements in either long or extreme close ranges) auto rifles that are not called doctrine of passing don't really fit with the types of engagements you deal with. that being said they work amazing in PvE right now.
-
no stop crying, your doc of skill isn't a god weapon anymore
-
I think high impact need a bit of a buff. But mostly they are ok as is.
-
Some are really good. Like the vendor Righteous 7 which isnt even god rolls. As long as you can get headshots its pretty much the best auto rifle in the game.
-
All auto rifles outside of HRof like you said. They also need to make the HRof pose rifles take 4 bursts to kill so the medium and low rate can compete
-
Just the high impact ones. Just like the high impact pulse rifles
-
So do hand cannons IMO
