I'm depressed and lonely

I have no one in my life. Everyone I've ever talked to or known hates me. Everyone close to me gets hurt and then hate me. I feel like cutting myself. Divide runs though my thoughts constantly.
inb4suicidecopypaste
I hate my life. I feel like everyone would be better off if I never existed. I don't know what to do anymore. My life is boring and I've been extremely lonely for a long time.

 • So, I have depression as well and this is what I have learned throughout my life. A big one is to be active. Depressive thoughts and attitudes increase of you turn to your phone, computer, or video games as comfort. While those might in fact help some days, if you rely on them they will hurt you. Get out of your house and take a walk for an hour, or go work out for an hour. This helps your mental state tremendously. Another helpful tip is to write how you feel out in a journal. Just sit down and write until you feel as though you've gotten everything out. Writing helps put abstract thoughts into a concrete form, helping you identify problems that trigger/increase depressive moods. Also, buy a rubber band to fit around your wrist. Pop it every time you have an absurdly negative thought. Most depressive thoughts are lies or exaggerated thoughts. Pop the rubber band whenever you get super down. Hopefully the snap is enough to shock you out of this train of thought. Over time, your brain will associate the negative thoughts with being punished (the popping) and will eventually avoid the situations. (This is a method in psychology known as negative reinforcement.) And finally, get help. Speak to people about these thoughts. Call a hotline. Schedule a doctors appointment and tell them you might be depressed. They can do something about it. They can get you medicine to balance the imbalanced chemicals in your brain. They can get you a person to help talk you through your depressive states. You're life is valuable, and there are so many people willing to help. As for feeling lonely, find people to socialize with. I don't know your age, but your going to have to actively search for people to talk to. Churches usually have some sort of thing for high school students to chill at. On college campuses, there are plenty of clubs or organizations you can join and meet people through. It sucks, but you're going to have to initialize a bit in order to make friends. In short, exercise to relieve some depression. Write down things to identify key problems that set you off. Most depressive thoughts are lies that seem believable in your current state of mind. When feeling depressed, try to take all dark thoughts lightly. Find something to distract you when you start going down a depressing train of thought. I use a rubber band. And finally, talk to people. Qualified people. They have dedicated their lives to show that people like you how important they are, and how they can overcome this mindset. And for finding friends, try to initiate. Walking up to a group of people is scary, but try it. People are nicer than you think. And if you don't want to do that, go somewhere where people are gathered and try to find other people standing away from groups. Strike up a conversation with them. Anyways, I hope this helps you and anybody else who deals with this. You, or anybody that needs a person to talk to about this, can PM me. (Fair warning, I don't check my PM's very often, just because I don't use them. But if I see someone has contacted me, I'll constantly check it.)
