They seemed to be made out of something, but the Automatron could not identify what it was. Either it was a fabric made out of dark matter or something that exists only outside of universes. They also seemed to be almost lightweight, due to the body they have. You also notice that they disappear into thin air when they were shot. Their sizes varied, like humans. They seemed to 'wear' cloaks that glitched, moving from one position to the other.

If they were made of Dark Matter, then they were susceptible to Gravitational Attacks. The Automaton extended its hand, as it began to glow an erie blue. If physics decides to not break then the "ghosts" should be ripped apart.

Sure enough, they break down into pieces, leaving behind polygonal entrails as they disappeared. Surely enough though, not all of them seem to be made out of fabrics of unknown proportions. Xavier: "Oh great, more Anomalies."

The Automaton, with its newly acquired knowledge, scanned the remaining enemies extensively.

Before you could start scanning, they start to send in heavy ordnance, blocking your vision with explosives.

They tried to block its vision, they obviously didn't know what they were dealing with. It easily saw through whatever blockage it faces (I'm assuming smoke). Once completing the scan, it compiles and reads the data in a matter of milliseconds.

The human units seem to be wearing hardlight armour, along with the grenade launchers they tried to use on you. Again, the armour and weapons seem to be angular in every wrong way. The robot hears a distorted roar from the hallway.
