First off I want to say that the goal for acquiring full gear sets is not very high. I am just shooting for a damage decrease or something for the gear now cause I felt there is no real need to have all the gear unless there was an incentive. The April update is allowing people to eventually reach max level by playing and grinding exotics for their next boost to a piece of armor or weapon. There needs to be an incentive to gather all gear sets or there is no real need to. A shader when you have all pieces is cool but what does that really do for me? Doesn't help kill or not be killed by the enemies. Whats the benefit to getting a whole new raid set when people will more than likely infuse it to something else to power their old gear up?
Example:
All Kingsfall Raid gear (5% damage decrease from Taken) or (5% damage increase to Taken)
All Vault of Glass gear (5% damage decrease from Vex) or (5% damage increase to Vex)
All Crota's End gear (5% damage decrease from Hive) or (5% damage increase to Hive)
All Vanguard/Crucible/Faction gear (5% extra rep gains) This will stack for faction exotics rep boost.
Other Ideas:
All Raid gear: Faster reloading and carry more ammo for all weapons
This would become a trade off from variety but make the goal of striving for gear sets that much more desirable.

I like it where you get a bonus perk for a particular use (ex. Y1 House Judgment gear gave a bonus in POE).
-
-
I wish this were a thing. Would give me a reason to run the sublime sets because otherwise their stats are pure trash.

Edited by CreativeSteve: 8/8/2016 2:56:34 PMIt would be good if they did but I don't think it will happen anytime soon. The new up coming artifacts in rise of iron seem to be coming close though. One can dream one day.
-
So many people ignorant people saying crap like "We'd all look the same!" Then maybe have all the gear sets be worthwhile. Right? Currently, the King's Fall armor is the best with it's perks.
-
Yeah. If not that then maybe the ability to min/max our INT/DISC/STR. That way I don't constantly run into the problem of having 299 in a stat
-
Imo, no! as i prefer to look cool (although hard enough with what's given), rather than take care of bonuses...
-
Like Skyrim!

Edited by jlobue10: 8/8/2016 5:36:00 PMThat's a good thing in a game like Diablo 3, but I don't think I'd like that in Destiny, but that's just my opinion. What makes it a good thing in a game like Diablo 3, is the much higher overall drop rate. I would probably start playing the other games in my library that I've been neglecting if Destiny really goes this route.
-
Of course they should, maybe in Destiny 2
-
I think that would be a great idea.
-
Maybe if they had like an appearance tab. Load the gear you want stat wise into one tab, and the gear want aesthetically in another. That way you can run the best possible gear stat wise without looking either like a goof or like everyone else. And you get more customization options from blue/green armor.
-
I like the idea but I would want original ones not the exact same the division has like with striker battle gears perk. Original ones like %50 more damage to the hive, fallen, taken, vex, cabal and the new one
-
Definitely. But maybe a 3 set bonus so you can have one exotic equipped too.
-
I like that in Division.
-
Hell no. Then everyone will be wearing full sets of gear, and be sad that they can't wear the gear they want without other people having an advantage.
-
No. I don't want to be forced to use those crappy King's Fall weapons. The only ones I use are the Heavies.
-
When i first got the game i thought it did..10 min later only to realize it isnt so
-
Edited by Bez: 8/8/2016 4:33:32 PMNo why force people to wear things they don't want and you can't say they don't have to cuz they would lose out of the bonus. I think you miss the point of this game cuz I'm pretty sure it's to have your own unique guardian not everyone wearing the same gear cuz the bonus that gear brings is best for whatever everyone's doing lol
flashback to year 1 everyone's wearing the same shit
Edited by Level 2 on Easy: 8/8/2016 3:31:23 PMyes. Thats how RPG's are suppose to be. Unique "set armor" that is equipped together should have a buff of some sort. Lets say you find a full set of crucible armor. It should allow you to gain 10% more XP from turned in bounties, 10% more XP from match wins. Full set of Vanguard armor. 10% more XP from Vanguard bounties 10% more XP from Vanguard activities 2% damage bonus in Vanguard activities when equipping all Vanguard weapons. Set armor is suppose to be unique, rare and hard to find, but high reward. Personally, House of Judgment, The Queen, and Raid set gear should all have a set buff.
-
I think this is good idea. Bungie already showed us artifacts in Rise of Iron that will give us very intresting bonuses. So i think that full set of Iron Banner, Osiris, Vanguard, Crucible and of course fractions gear should give us some bonuses.
-
Good idea
-
Love that
-
Love the idea, I wouldn't want the bonuses extremely strong. Strong enough to want to wear a full set.
-
something minimal but, yes..
-
Anyone think full gear sets should add bonuses? Example: All Kingsfall Raid gear to include weapons (5 percent damage decrease from Taken)
So like the division where having a full set of any type of gear u will get a set bonus.
