First off I want to say that the goal for acquiring full gear sets is not very high. I am just shooting for a damage decrease or something for the gear now cause I felt there is no real need to have all the gear unless there was an incentive. The April update is allowing people to eventually reach max level by playing and grinding exotics for their next boost to a piece of armor or weapon. There needs to be an incentive to gather all gear sets or there is no real need to. A shader when you have all pieces is cool but what does that really do for me? Doesn't help kill or not be killed by the enemies. Whats the benefit to getting a whole new raid set when people will more than likely infuse it to something else to power their old gear up?
Example:
All Kingsfall Raid gear (5% damage decrease from Taken) or (5% damage increase to Taken)
All Vault of Glass gear (5% damage decrease from Vex) or (5% damage increase to Vex)
All Crota's End gear (5% damage decrease from Hive) or (5% damage increase to Hive)
All Vanguard/Crucible/Faction gear (5% extra rep gains) This will stack for faction exotics rep boost.
Other Ideas:
All Raid gear: Faster reloading and carry more ammo for all weapons
This would become a trade off from variety but make the goal of striving for gear sets that much more desirable.
Anyone think full gear sets should add bonuses? Example: All Kingsfall Raid gear to include weapons (5 percent damage decrease from Taken)
So like the division where having a full set of any type of gear u will get a set bonus.

Ubisoft much?

Edited by madirishman3: 8/8/2016 5:02:07 PMI always feel harder to kill in IB when I'm wearing a full IB set but yes as long as its minimal then it's sounds good.

Minus the class item

It makes too much sense, which is why they won't add it until much, much, much later.

Heck yeah! But only if loadouts can be saved and swapped at will. I already have a set, for my sniping, another for my shotgun. Several different guantlets for reloading different primaries faster. Several different class items to cover the gaps in stats for the exotics that refuse to re-roll to the right stats. Several different ghosts to help keep me well supplied with Wormspore and such from picking up engrams. So, in other words, Heck Yeah!! But only if loadouts can be saved and swapped at will.

Edited by Creed422: 8/8/2016 5:08:41 PMI like the idea. I think the set bonus perk should be switched up just like any other perk, hence making the grind longer and giving a reason to play more. Take New Monarchy armor for instance: Chest: sprint delay reduction. Arms: radar always on Boots: sprint delay reduction Helm: sprint delay reduction The bonus would not activate until you get the arms with sprint delay reduction as well, thus making you actually play more to get that piece of armor to complete the set. Plus this way you can pair the set perk with an artifact perk, combining the two for your ultimate play style.

Hell yes they should

Would be good I would still want my blue glow back on my head too 😩😩

It's a nice thought, personally I still run with the full Jovian Guard Set.

No this isn't the Division this is Destiny

Had a post about this the first month of the game. I still think it would be a neat idea.

I really liked how gw2 does stuff. You have a slot for your armor to put a rune in. If all your armor has the same runes you get set bonuses. In addition they have a wardrobe system. How that works is you could have legendary gear, keep the stats but reskin it with any skin you have unlocked. I will say that alot of people started calling it fashion wars 2 after that though.

I don't think it'll come to Destiny. That said, Destiny 2 really needs to have gear "sets" that provide specific bonuses for wearing them. The artifacts is a step in the right direction, but full on sets need to be a thing in the future. Stuff like this adds so much more depth to a game. I would go so far to say that they also need crafting, so building sets aren't always based on RNG.

I think Bungie is realizing players want to look how they want to look with no strings attached to it. Granting a perk/ buff for having a full set goes against that IMO, one of the reasons Bungie is removing the XP buff from Iron Banner shaders/ class items and emblems is so players can look how they want to look without missing out on a buff in Iron Banner. Granting a shader/ emote is the most I can see Bungie doing in regards to a bonus.

Nah, it would make the game less diversive
-
Yeah. I can't believe the egg heads haven't done this yet. [X] logic

Thumbs up of approval

Something that The Division has aswell? Mix certain Gear types to gain benefits of both.
-
It would be cool if it would unlock a story mission to explain the back story of the gear
-
Yes! Give me bonus New Monarchy anything!
