Are elves truly better than everyone else at everything in every form of mythology that relates to elves?
Like I think of Zelda when I think of elves.
Fairies must be real too, in this line of fiction
"But the point is that elves are always far superior in many ways to every other race they come across.
The most powerful characters are always elven and magical characters"
"Even though it would only make sense to deny that, because deities are the strongest but they have fatal flaws.
So elves are usually the most overall powerful
When you compare them to nords and such. "
"I was a stormcloak....
And now I am not
The elves have defeated me,
With their diplomatic thought"
-dovakhin in the next life
-
I usually make a point of slaying most of those smug sissies If they really were superior, they would have been able to stop me
-
Thalmor suck.
-
I normally line Elves but the Witchers Elves...They are so ungrateful and don't even want to help them at all. They can live in their filth for all I care
-
I think Orcs in Skyrim have the best racial ability.
-
Glass them.
-
Khajit got your back
-
Elves fall into a stereotype; just line everything else. No one ever changes the back story of how the elven race comes to be. Thus, the same paternity always follows suit. although I think Teiflings are stronger ;)
-
Skyrim belongs to the Nords!
-
A dead thalmor (-blam!- my spelling) is the best elf.
-
I think it has to do with the fact that generally their civilizations have been set up for far longer, so they're in like their golden age, whereas humans are just coming up. And generally Dwarves are pretty far along as far as technology goes.
-
-
Orcsimer are the best elves
-
Elves do usually have a trend in being stronger, yet not difficult to fight For example they don't tend to be the best at fist fights in most games but they make up for that with magical prowess
-
It depends on the depiction.
-
I prefer faunus.
-
Sorry but Breton's are 10x better Ignore 50% of Damage done by Magic... Dragons using their breath counts as magic... And The once Daily Absorb Magic is just OP
-
As Tokien once said "Elves are gay".
-
Definitely. Nothing beats legolas.
-
I prefer dwarves
-
Dammit Link is Hylian
-
Best Mages are Breton Best Warriors are Redguard Best Thieves are Khajit Best Orators are Imperials Best Swimmers are Argonians Best basic bitches are Elves

Edited by Kankunation: 8/9/2016 2:40:40 AMNot quite. It might be a heavy case of Mary sue, but in most forms of media it seems that humans tend to have the most power, to subjugate and even dismantle the elven society. Elves are quite often seen as exceptionally powerful in their past, yet weakened at some point by various means. I'm other words, usually it's the ancient elves that are powerful while humans came and destroyed them, directly or indirectly. Some good examples: Elder scrolls - humans came along, fought off the elves, took most of their land and made them split into separate factions of elves. Some elves were cursed, becoming the orcs and dark elves, and others like the falmer and aldmer were driven to extinction. Dragon age - elven "gods" were sealed away by fen Harel, another elven diety, and their immortality stripped from them when he sealed the fade away. Then humans came along, largely destroyed their culture and enslaved the elves. LotT - elves created the power rings in an attempt to anchor their old power into the world, preseve their age. Humans have largely encroached on their lands and their civilization continues to diminish. When the one ring is destroyed so is a lot of their power as elves. They are more or less forced towards a few locations, namely back to the lands of the gods. They are still very powerful, but not nearly as much as they were in the past. Warcraft - (not as informed on this one) the elves are were one of the oldest and most magically powerful races, but certain events caused them to split into several subraces, splintering their power and creating more confict that largely destroyed their oldest societies. The only thing that seems to almost always be the case is elves are the best users of magic, and knew ancient and powerful spells in the past.

Dunno, definitely best suited for "special" training though.
-
Elder Scrolls does a good job of balancing the race bonuses; elf races' bonuses are centered around magic but they don't have anything in melee combat
-
If you roll a mage, yes.

In the discworld, they are annoyences that like to torture humans, but are week to iron. Any iron causes them pain when they come into contact with it. Not very strong there. Elder scrolls, they lose loads of their land to humans, but know how to cast magic the best.
