Okay look I'm not a pvp god or anything. Hella average. BUT I have games (usually in a row) where I have like 25 kills and 4 deaths. Every shot is on point. Snipes? Pssshhh hitting like a shotgun main claims snipers hit. All I can think is hot diggty damn I'm -blam!-ing killing this game. Then for about 10 games in a row i may scrape by with a crispy .10 KD. Trials? Trials? Shoot I'll smack people with 2200 Elos and then lose to people with 1400 Elos.. Blows my mind how inconsistent I am and it's absolutely nerve racking. Lol. Any one else feel my pain?

What is this "consistency"? Can I eat it?
-
I've learned not to judge or take for granted people with low elo's in trials. With the amount of streamers running recov's with stomp teams, you just never know. That's why its good to look at previous game history. If they have low kd's and elo, then their history should show, but if they are going on long ass win streaks with 2.0 kd's something is up.
-
I've thought about this subject for a while and the only reasonable explanations I can come up with are: 1. Hidden algorithms (far fetched) 2. P2p causes unneeded lag in some (most likely) lobbies more than others 3. A combination of the above 2 (likely) Either way this realization alone has caused me to stop playing pvp until they fix the game. If I can 5-1 a team of 2000+ elo players then lose 4-5 to people with 1400 elo while playing the same level of sweaty then something is seriously off there. When I used to play cod or halo this never happened, either I was constantly doing well/decent or I was getting destroyed (which meant I was fatigued and needed to get off). No need for me to rage at a game that's clearly broken.

Yeah, sometimes. But hey, we all have off days.

Manipulated win/loss

This is just driving me absolutely crazy lately. Many matches I go into and all of the sudden it is like I have my hawksaw on and I fight someone with a hawksaw as well, but their version has half the ttk as mine and kills in 1-2 bursts. I am getting shot through walls and cover objects. All types of grenades are sticky and kill in .1 seconds. Enemy snipers fire heat seeking missiles. I check my network and everything is functioning great, and I am not red barring. Then after a bunch of matches against the same team running rampant stomping me into the mud, suddenly the tables turn and I am sniping people with headshots out of the air on the other side of the map. I'm not getting obliterated before I even know what is going on and I can fight back. Finally everything works again and I top the score. It is incredibly frustrating as it isn't me. There is most certainly something going on even though I lack the knowledge to identify it.

I have no idea how you feel =/

Edited by Dooodley: 8/9/2016 1:27:02 PMI don't find it to be that inconsistent. The times I go negative is a direct outcome of joining late when the enemies have supers and heavies. Super/heavy kills can rinse and repeat a coouple of times before I even have a chance to scout the map and see what my team mates are doing or where to go. The latter is the main reason I really hate JiPs because when you're in a game from start - winning or losing - you get a feeling of how the match is played and you're able to adjust to that with a lot of time left on the clock. When you join late you're just dropped in the middle of the battle - with no clue of what's going on - and there's hardly any adjustment period. So by the time you find your bearings you don't have time to make up for those 3 in a row super deaths you just had. Hence, they really need to turn off stats for JiP. JiP's are rendering stats completely moot and if you're a solo player like myself - who's forced to JiP a lot - it really leaves a mark. Or even better, allow us to turn off JiP'ing. I'd personally rather play three people down - because people on my team decided to quit or DC'ed - than having to JiP 50 % or so of my matches.

You are as (in)consistent as the connections in the lobby. Skill Based Matchmaking only made the connections worse yet Crucible team refuses to admit their mistake.
-
This ^
-
same..ugh
-
I know that feeling...well blacm (matchmaking, lag, location between you and other people (more lag)the fact that stats like kd and elo don't really matter that is why sbmm is broken etc) I'll give ya an example had a game was killing it..3.88 KD in a fun match in Clash (normal) next match I barely hit 0.9 kd...getting owned...so..incosistency is why pvp is the way it is...just..weird
-
According to Destinytracker, I went from top 1% in Clash to bottom 20% in ELO since the last update. How's that for inconsistencies?
-
It winds me up when I play with some friends I'm a beast, but when I play with the clan I'm crap.
-
Yeah I kind of agree, this week on trials I beat some really good players having some really good games, then for some reason all my snipes just apparently stop, which confuses me. For anyone that says I'm bad, my weekly stats were fantastic.
-
Exactly, but it doesn't seems like it affects people with super high kd.
-
Play one day and average a 3-4 KD on control Next day average a 0.5 using the same exact set up The fck is this
-
I'm pretty sure the game -blam!-s you sometimes when you're doing well. I basically mercied theses 2 dude in doubles last night then the next game a total noob with a .06 K/D is basicall 1 shotting me with a blue scout rifle, I hit him 6 times in the head with a MIDA (I watched the footage back after) and he basically 1 shots me with a blue scout. I'm so sure the game reduces the damage you do to players sometimes and incrased the damage you do to them!
-
Yup, same. I can't even say that it's a specific map type - sometimes I'll own Asylum: top score, lowest deaths, kill streaks for days. Same map up next time, opposition mainly the same (ie shotgunners) and 2 - 25, fall off the map 3 times, lucky if I pick up one Special brick, let alone the heavy. Then I go and do it again on Pantheon, Shores, Blind Watch.... Bizarre

Edited by I Need That Head: 8/9/2016 6:01:18 AMNah, its just you. Lmao, jk, yeah I'm like that
-
Nah, its just you.
-
Same. It's ridiculous man.
-
Yea, I feel ya
-
Same I'm so inconsistent
-
I usually rotate weapons a lot, so my KD jumps around. I spent a few games today using a fusion rifle with skip rounds. I just wanted those trick shots, haha.
-
Yes I have the same shit. It's annoying af I hope that destiny 2 gets server based pvp instead of this -blam!-ing early 2000's p2p shit
