The Elder Scrolls Lore #5: Elsweyr and the Khajiit

Hello! If you're wondering where I've been (probably not) I've been on vacation! Still am, actually. Day 3. But I know that's not why you're here. Today I'll bore you with the cat people of Tamriel! Oh, and Elsweyr. As always, if I missed something tell me! The Khajiit, much like the Argonians, may be native to Tamriel. The Khajiit, like I mentioned earlier, are the cat people. But they're not just cat people. They're also house cats who can understand English, and could also be mammoth-sized saber cats! "But how?" You may wonder. It's all revolved around the moons. Moons. Yep, the moons of Nirn, Masser and Secunda. Depending if one moon is full and the other is new will create a different type of Khajiit. I'm not sure about you, but I'd love to ride through the jungles and deserts of Elsweyr on a giant cat. So, I've got to wait. The Khajiit change because of something called the Lunar Lattice. Khajiiti "forms" Ohmes You may have seen them... They are almost complete lookalikes to the Elves, and in order to stand out paint their faces like a Khajiit would. Sometimes they wouldn't go to Disney World for makeup and take advantage of their appearance. They're born when Masser (big) is new and Secunda (small) is full. Ohmes-raht A more Khajiiti lifestyle! This type of Khajiit are like the Ohmes (hence the name) but have light-colored fur and a tail. They are easily mistakable for a man at a distance. They become real when Masser is new and Secunda is waxing (D shaped, for the young). Suthay-raht I'm flipping the script! In order to understand Suthay you must know the "raht" iteration. The most thunk of when you think if Khajiit, ranging from a bright yellow to a dark brown. They could also have stripes, spots, or nothing. The other races of man and mer call these the "Ja'Khajiit," or "kitten." Adorable, right? Well, In the Khajiit religion, there is basically a bunch of Deadra/Aedra turned into cat versions. Ja'Khajiit is a name for the Khajiiti Mehrunes Dagon... They form when Masser is new and Secunda is Waning (C shaped, again for the young). Suthay Almost copies of the Suthay-raht, just with lesser muscles and body makeup. Both moons need to be new in order for them to exist. Cathay and Cathay-raht Cathay are made when Masser is waxing and Secunda is a round ball in the sky. They are stronger, more fit versions of the Suthay-raht. Cathay-raht are even stronger then normal Cathay! Made when both moons are full, they are commonly referred to as the jaguar-men. Why? It may imply that they're spotted, but has yet to be seen. Tojay and Tojay-raht Almost nothing is known about them other then they live in the jungle. Tojay are created when Masser is Waxing and Secunda is new, and the raht type is made when Masser is Waxing and Secunda is Waning. Alfiq You don't even know they're there. This is the common housecat! Except they still maintain the intelligence of a normal cat man. They can understand a language, but can't respond. They can also cast spells, apparently. Perfect for spies! One such cat I think is Star from one of the Deshaan quests from ESO. But I'm not sure. They're born when Masser is Waning and Secunda is full. Alfiq-raht Not much is known. It's thought just to be a bigger cat. Created when Secunda is waxing and Masser is Waning. Dagi and Dagi-raht While writing this I though they are basically lemurs. They live high in trees and are small and light-weighted. The Dagi-raht are bigger, but not big enough to break a branch. Dagi is when Masser is Waning and Secunda is full, while the raht version is a duo of Waxing moons. Senche The horse of Elsweyr. Oftenly used as Khajiiti Steeds, they look the size of an elf, but weigh 20. Their fur is the color of dried blood. Created when both moons are full. Senche-raht Twice the size, half the speed. They weigh about double then the normal Senche and are the mammoth size I mentioned earlier. They are slower but more straight then a normie Senche. When used in the Imperial Army they were called "Battlecats." Born into Elsweyr when Masser is full and Secunda is waxing. Pahmar and Pahmar-raht Just your average tiger. Pahmar are when Masser is full and Secunda is new, and the raht way is when Masser is full and Secunda is Waning. Mane Mane, oh mane! It is said that only one can live at a time. Manes grow their manes (guessed it, huh) long during their rule. Actually, they think one Mane is just reborn constantly! Eventually they'll grow their mane so long it'll be hard to move, so they get transported by his/her guards. Made when both moons align and a special third moon appears! That should cover that. If you've read my other posts you should know what's next. Towns and Cities Riverhold Riverhold, not to be confused with Riverwood, is a town in the Northern half of Elsweyr, which is deserts and badlands. It is thought it was in the First Era, and when the Empire fell the city still swarmed with Imperial troops. The town has a busy market, and is said to be ruled by a monarch. Dune Dune borders Valenwood. During the time of Molag Bal (ESO) it was attacked twice. The first attack was held off by the Fighter's Guild. The second time Molag Bal was partnered with an evil man named Javad Tharn, who was hoping on killing the Mane. You can see how that would be bad. Javad opened portals everywhere, even one inside a Temple! Eventually, though, the player in ESO (called the Soulless One) stops him, saving the first Aldmeri Dominion. Rimmen Home to more than just Khajiit, the place is actually built by the Akaviri, the primary force of Akavir. In this town there's a monument called the Tonenaka, which itself is said to hold ,1000 other statues? No, 10,000. During the third Era, presumably a Khajiit called Ya'tirrje, the Gold-Cat, ran a huge drug smuggle. The southern jungles of Elsweyr are used to produce a hardcore drug called Skooma. That's what the Gold-Cat was smuggling. Orcrest It's a city that completes the rhombus of towns including the three above, acting as the southern tip of this northern rhombus. Cherim, a Khajiit with a skill in tapestry, lived here. Corinthe Notable for the Gold-Cat's "trade," it's a city in the jungles of Southern Elsweyr. It also had both a Mage's Guild and a Dark Brotherhood sanctuary, which are now closed. Also called Corinth (no "e"). Torval Torval is the capital of Elsweyr and home of the Mane. Sugarcane gardens surround the palace, of which humans aren't allowed inside. Senchal The southernmost city, it sits on a peninsula, making it the greatest port town in Tamriel. It is filled with plazas, markets, and other things of that nature. It is infamous for how easy it is to smuggle drugs out of Elseweyr. Parts of the town are blown up with beggars and moonsugar junkies. Ad section of the town lay burnt to the ground in an effort to stop the Knahaten Flu from reaching other parts of Senchal. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to put off history like I did with Morrowind because of the Lunar Lattice thing. See you there!

 • Think the mane part is wrong. According to eso they do a ritual and visit the moons and some other shit to become the mane. Plus the new mane in that story is a chick. Be strange if she grew a beard.
