Bungie, Destiny Makes Me Wonder: Do You Support The Flat Earth Model?
Bungie, this is a question I would love to hear an answer to: do you support the Flat Earth model? Every time I pick up the controller and play Destiny (by far your masterpiece) I am struck by the way Destiny implicitly expresses an all inclusive interpretation of the universe. Things that modern science claims to be impossible are suddenly possible: like The Traveler, resurrection, or time stalking robots. Throughout the game you weave the notion that reality need not be bound by a rigid set of assumptions. Truth is where the seemingly impossible takes you.
I am not convinced that our planet is round. My senses seem to tell me the earth is Flat. I am curious where Bungie stands on the issue. Do you support one view over another? The sheer level of imagination and artistic beauty I experience throughout Destiny makes me think that perhaps you are at least willing to ponder the question. I know you will probably not have time to answer me. Thats ok. Just having the privilege of being a player and forum user is awesome. But if you have a sec, knowing where my favorite gaming company stands would really be great...

13 RepliesThe flat earth model was disproven in the 1400s. You can deny 600 years of progress if you like, that's your choice to be willfully ignorant. Denying the Earth is round denies axial tilt which gives us seasons, denies satellites that give us tv and cell service, and certain air travel patterns that shave off milage by flying slightly north or south instead of flying directly east to west, denies that every other visible celestial body in the known universe is round. Your senses tell you the world is flat because you are very small. You are also choosing to be small minded.

14 RepliesThe planet is NOT flat or at the center of the universe. I do not mean to be rude but everytime i hear somebody mention flat earth, it shocks me immediately that they actually believe that. From where i am, i could go left and end up in China.. i could go right and also end up in china.. That basically means that the planet must be round. Jumping is a small thing because we are tiny compared to the planet, therefore we do not notice the roundness. In all technicality it is bumpy and not perfectly round. The Earth SLOWLY spins, so if you jump you will NOT see this. As centrifugal force is pulling you with the spin as well as the slowness. The earth is so large that we CANNOT see the shape of it, but have scientifically found and also (found by travellin to the same location from opposite directions) that it is indeed round.

...not sure if troll, or genuinely believe earth is flat. Ironic, if you believe it, since then you must not believe in the internet, gps, weather, stars, the moon, gravity, water, rain, earthquakes, electricity, magnets, clouds, mountains, trees... the list goes on. None of those things could exist on a flat earth.
