"I don't think I can do this anymore." "You're kidding, right?" Meta looked into his friend's eyes through the portal with a tone of remorse. "I can't....do this with them.... It's too much." Meta's friend, Gravity, ran his hand through his brown curly hair and sighed. "Look, buddy. Self-pity and your temper has always been your weaknesses. You know that all of Us have them." Meta raised an eyebrow. "Even Matthew?" "Especially bloody Matthews. Have you seen his ego? "I honestly always thought that was a good thing. He's certainly social." Gravity looked at Meta. "You've done this before, bud. I'm not letting you do it again." "Oh what's the point? They'll die out eventually!" "How the hell could you be so cruel? Where's the damn Meta I know that CARED about Human Life? The one who asked questions, the one who fought for freedom more than anything? Dude! YOU TOOK ON THE ENTIRETY OF THE BLACK LEGION AND WON! By yourself! Where's the Meta that was extreme and adventurous? Where's the Meta that went into a Black Hole JUST to see what would happen?" Meta sighed as he put his hands on his hips. "You're doing it again?" Meta looked up. "What?" "Come on! Your hands are on your hips, you're biting your lower lip and you're not making eye contact. You're frustrated." "OF COURSE I AM! THESE PEOPLE DON'T GET IT! THEY MAKE THEIR OWN PERSONALITIES AS THEY GO ALONG! WHY DO YOU THINK IM FRUSTRATED?!" "Then teach them, Meta!" Gravity had a serious look on his face. He sighed, as he adjusted his trademark bow tie. "Our job is to be the smartest being in the plane of existence were assigned to. Right now, you're being a narcissistic asshole." Meta sighed. "They're children. All of them. It's hard on me just to SPEAK with them, damnit!" Gravity sighed. "Ok, fine. So what if they're not as intelligent as most races you're assigned to? It's still your job to be the teacher." Gravity sighed, as he took off his specs and cleaned them. "Look, I have a meeting with Father in an hour. We're planing to raid the Krypt." "Wish I could raid the damn Krypt. Killing Were-Spiders is fun." Gravity chuckled. "Meta, just, get your shit together. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and teach these people." Meta sighed. "You were ranked 3 Overall out of the entire Arcanum. What's happening to you man?" Meta's eye twitched. "I'm learning more. Learning things I wish I haven't." There was a long silence before Meta spoke again. "But I get what you're saying, Gravity. I'll do it. Oh, and tell Sean thanks for letting me borrow his Orb." Gravity smiled. "I'll make sure." The red-orange edges of the portal collapsed in on each other as the message was ended. Meta sighed, as he looked at his Orb. "Let's go make a difference." Meta said this in a rather joking tone. The next day, Meta was sitting on a wooden bench in the middle of The Dojo. His orb was silently guarding him as he was writing in his journal. As always.
open
He clapped his hands together and his smile widened. He rested his hands on his legs. "What about Dark Matter and Dark Energy?"

 • Oh, definitely. If I have an opportunity to learn something that has been making scientists nuts just to make a theory then I'll take it.

 • "Very well." He cleared his throat. "Matter, as we know it: Atoms, stars and galaxies. Planets and trees. Rocks and us. This matter accounts for less that five percent of the known Universe. About twenty five percent is Dark Matter and seventy percent Dark Energy. Both of which, are invisible. This is kind of strange, because it suggests everything we experience is really only a tiny fraction of reality. But it gets worse, we really have no clue what Dark Matter and Energy are, or how they work. We are pretty sure they exist, though. So, what do we know? Dark Matter is the stuff that makes it possible for galaxies to exist. When we calculated why the Universe is structured the way it is, it quickly became clear there's just not enough normal matter. The gravity of the visible matter is not strong enough to form galaxies and complex structures. The stars would more likely be scattered all over the place and not form galaxies. So we know there is something inside and around them. Something that doesn't emit or reflect light. Something, dark. Besides being able to calculate the existence of Dark Matter, we can see it. Kind of. Places with a high concentration of Dark Matter bend light passing nearby, so we know there's something there that interacts with gravity. Right now, we have more ideas about what Dark Energy is not, that what it is. We know Dark Matter is not just clouds of normal matter without stars, because it would emit particles we could detect. Dark Matter is not Antimatter, because Antimatter produces unique Gamma Rays when it reacts with normal matter. Dark Matter is also not made up of Black Holes. Very compact objects that violently effect their surroundings, while Dark Matter seems to be scattered all over the place. Basically, we only know three things for sure. One, something is out there. Two, it interacts with gravity. Three, there is a lot of it. Dark Matter is probably made up of a complicated exotic particle that doesn't interact with light and matter in a way we expect. But right now, we just don't know." He pauses. "So, that was Dark Matter. Shall I move on to Dark Energy?"

 • I'd say we could move on, but if we were to prove the existence of this Dark matter, do you think that this would be composed of new, unheard of elements?

 • "I did say it was made of an exotic material that reacted to gravity. So, yes."

 • Hmm, okay. Please, continue with your dark energy lesson
