Here's exactly what Cozmo will tell you.
"The phrase "at least" in every description of Destiny’s timed exclusivity gives the companies the wiggle room to extend the window, as they have done here." -Polygon
"At least"
"Read the fine print" please.
Ok?
if Bungie changes the contract without the permission or agreement of Sony, it would be a breach of contract.
Sony will not satisfy it's competitions players/customers...Especially after they paid BUNGIE for the contract for exclusives in the first place.
Now pipe down and suck it up. Its a CONTRACT that cannot be broken, even if extended.

You kids still dont understand so ill make this simple. You will never get those exclusives if Sony keeps renewing the contract, and they will. Be glad AF you got the last set of exclusives because Sony now knows how big Destiny is and will make sure you dont get exclusives they paid for. You will NEVER see the TTK exclusives.
-
Sony is altering the terms of the deal, pray they do not alter them further.

-
But yea, THIS^ guy gets it

You guys can all quit crying now.

If Bungie decides to extend the exclusivity, there's not a lot I can do about it other than communicate that to them and vote with my wallet. I'm not to that point yet though. I'm asking for some clarification on what's actually going on, since things are unclear. What's wrong with that?
-
Timed exclusive until at least
"At LEAST" You answered your own question. So do you not understand what that means or do you just need attention? Because i don't see the problem when the answer is in front of you and you quoted it.
-
I understand exactly what that means. Last time they said "at least Fall 2015" and then released the content Fall 2015, setting a precedent. So this time when they said "at least Fall 2016", the expectation was that it would indeed be Fall 2016. That expectation no longer appears to be accurate, but Bungie hasn't officially said anything clearly, so that's the reason for asking for clarification. What's the problem with expecting Bungie to talk to the community when things are unclear?
-
at least Fall
Do i REALLY have to tell you what that means? How old ARE you? It means 'at the minimum' so yes, it COULD be later than Fall of 2016 (If the contract is extended) WOW. So many kids on XBox confirmed lol. All kicking and screaming because they are in denial over a simple contract. Just suck it up like an adult please.
-
Edited by Sister of Shapes: 8/19/2016 8:44:49 PMYou are on ps4 you don't understand. We pay the same but get less because we learned that our consoles wouldn't be receiving exclusives. Not only do we have to wait to get ps4 exclusives but now Sony can keep renewing the contract as long as they want.
-
I understand that completely. What i do not understand, ironically, is how XBox players do not read the Exclusives page correctly or understand it at all. They just keep whining lol
-
Bump for the extra salts.
-
It's can't be broken but it can be renegotiated
-
If Sony allows it. If Sony wants to satisfy the customers of its competitor (Microsoft) lol.
Get real
-
How is it up to Sony? Sony doesn't control the game bungie and activision do, btw I'm not being a dick I'm just trying to have a discussion so you can stop with the "get real" stuff
-

It was a mutually agreeable contract between Sony and activision, activision being the one that set the terms of the contract, and I'm not saying to break the contract just renegotiate it so timed exclusives cant be pushed back past the initially mentioned release date for Xbox
-
Edited by Scrub: 8/19/2016 8:02:28 AM
It was a mutually agreeable contract between Sony and activision
So what does that mean? It means, Bungie said "Hey Sony, if you want your customers to have exclusives in our game, pay us this amount of money." Then Sony said "Ok heres the money, now ONLY Sony players will get these items for a year, unless we pay you again for another year." Sony already paid Bungie for another year...thats the contract and how it works. So if Bungie says "Hey Sony, we know you already paid us but, can we give the items to Microsofts customers SOONER even though the CONTRACT SAYS WE CANNOT?" Sony would now say, "No, unless you want sued by one of the biggest electronic companies in the world, why would we want our competition to have the goods WE paid for? are you crazy?" So yea, The terms cannot be changed because Activision set SOME terms and Sony did too, Thats for assurance purposes in the mutual agreement, and set in place by ALL big company contracts to prevent the other company from just changing the terms after they got paid...its illegal to do it without Sony's permission, bro.
-
Yes but my point is, Microsoft will still be getting it eventually anyway, so why don't they just give them back whatever they paid ( I know it's not the smartest decision ever) but I'm speaking about the core principle here, if Sony was planning on getting another year of exclusive content why even give a release date for it being released to Xbox anyway?, why tell people that you will get it in fall 2016 when you know you won't release it until fall 2017
-
Edited by Scrub: 8/19/2016 8:07:56 AMIt said "At LEAST until fall of 2016" that means 'Unless Sony pays for another year' Contracts are NON REFUNDABLE. They cant just "Give the money back" lol...Sony would refuse the money and sue if they gave it to XBox anyway.
give up, its a dead end
-
Well I'm just going to stop now but only because (and no offence) but you are largely missing the point I'm trying to make.
-
Edited by Scrub: 8/19/2016 8:16:42 AMThe point is, you want Activision to change a contract so you can get items. My point is, its illegal for Activision to do it...its a contract.
-
That's not my point at all, my point is a company that doesn't make a game shouldn't have so much leverage on how much and when exclusive content should be released more so than the company that makes it, but the main point in trying to make is that timed exclusives shouldn't exist, Sony only did it to give people incentive to buy their console, although it's a smart move from a business standpoint, it divides gamers and gives the impression that they don't actually care about the gaming industry but more about their sales figures, there are other ways to give consumers incentive to buy your product other than paying to lock other people out of the content you get
It's can't be broken but it can be renegotiated
So what was this about again? It was about the contract, you said it, get real dude.
