And it's by far the best way I have been able to read into the broken ties of the story! It told me everything from beginning to end on what has been told via grimoire cards to things bungie will fill us in on to things that are still in question yet people have their own fan-fictions on already. By far the best read all month long. Bungie please keep up the good work and continue filling these holes in this amazing storyline. Hope you Guardians enjoy these articles.
Edit 1: Needless to say this article is now trending haha! I'm glad everyone is enjoying this backstory. I have read it all and I really hope that Bungie expands more on this story and the holes that lie within it all.
Edit 2: I have read a good portion of comments and how people are annoyed at the fact that some outer source had to tell this story. I can agree with that but at the same time I wouldn't want a storybook implanted in the game to tell you these things. I want to play out the Collapse. I want to play out the battle of Twilight Gap. I want to play these events instead of reading an article. And I probably won't be able to play them but my guardian might be able to relive them or even better find a way to go back in time and reverse history. I'm telling you this storyline has potential out the butthole. Let's hear your fan-fictions!!
Edit 3: I see that people would prefer to not have to read the story of the game outside the game itself. I can understand that but also there are a lot of games that have a hidden storytelling and RPG'S especially fall victim to these categories. I'm someone who runs to where the cursor is and picks up the mission and turn it in without reading the essay that they have in the mission description within that bounty. I miss out on a lot of the story because I have things I want to do. I want to get to the action. I wanna shoot the aliens. Not read hours of text when I can easily do that in my off hours/work (I work in a job that doesn't really require extensive attention). But I could probably also agree that there should be a in game grimoire/story book on the previous events that took place before "Destiny"

Awesome read. Bump for later
-
Someone like so I can come back this evening and read. Thanks
-
If we're lucky we'll get the whole story for Destiny one by the time Destiny 2 comes out.
-
2 years later, and the source is not even the game itself.
-
THIS IS AMAZING
-
Bungie is trying so hard to disagree with the people of the lore -Oh yeah the traveler stopped running for no apparent reason -were not zombies who'd murder anybody in sight for less than we probably should, were just zombies. (ignore the part where the fallen aren't really evil on this one) (also ignore when zavala says the enemy of my enemy is also my enemy so -blam!- it kill everybody on the dreadnaught) (also ignore how we started the fight with the cabal in valus strike)
-
It is a great read, it was nice to discover the actual story that should have been told to us through the game lol
-
This game seems to be on track to becoming the legend of a game it set out to be...
-
They should have told that story in the game. To late now. Until TTK Destiny was a beta without any story development. Just a mess of inept ingame cutscenes. "We have woken the Hive!" "Not even time to explain why I have no time to explain". 10 year olds write better stories than Luke Smith and his ilk.
-
they must put the cards as interactive movies and text besides like halo with the terminals
-
Confirmed, Eris Morn is a hunter. (I was wrong - I thought she was a warlock...)
-
Can someone comment on my post so I can come back later? Thanks in advance if you do, guardian.
-
Can I get a comment please?
-
Why would you post this? It's literally at the top of the forum and has tons of replies ..trending. Your the news of the news of the link to the news of the news?
-
Not that this needs it but ...bump
-
Oh yeah i needed this in my life today.
-
Even after having read the Grimoire countless times, there was some very interesting info in there that hadn't actually been revealed in the Grimoire (mostly small stuff). Good read.
-
Wait wtf so the non-bold parts of the article is bungie right? They're response to half of the the questions is that THEY DONT EVEN KNOW?!?? WHAT?!?!? They BUNGIE the ones who made the game just make up random BS that THEY THEMSELVES DONT EVEN KNOW!!!
-
I could care less about storyline. I played every halo and couldn't tell you anything about the story. Hell on destiny i can't remember the names of bosses or guns or maps or anything. I just like to shoot shit amd have a good time. I also hate cut scenes. If i wanted to watch a movie i would.
-
Two years later and they finally decided to release this? LOL great job bungie. Thanks for telling us stuff about the story line two years later. Bungie is internet explorer confirmed
-
Bump for later.
-
Bump4later
-
I paid for a game not a book.....bungie put the story in the game
-
So if I read all of that right...
Prince Uldren survived the battle over Saturn and crash landed on Mars?
Where/When was that ever mentioned in the game or grimoire?
-
Bump for later
