Just read this yesterday. I'm a year 1 guy and I just now feel like I've gotten a good grasp of the story plot.

It's been around for a while. I just googled grimoire a while back and got it. There's more to it than what Game Informer has... Like the Traveller was about to bolt when it saw human extinction was inevitable, and Rasputin shot it down. That's why it's damaged. It was forced to defend us, so we could in turn defend it.
