The story got thrown into the drama/deadline blender and we got a mess of potential. I wonder if Destiny 2 will have the Hive go their original path and eventually go through a metamorphosis into those epic looking Moth beings.
That would be such a waste of that incredible concept art if not, plus it made so much sense for them to eventually become Moths - drawn to the light.

Yeah, Daniel Chavez is an amazing artist. He took a lot of inspiration from Moths and their life cycle - his original Worm concept would have gotten the game an M-Rating for sure. But some of the effects and Moth classes he had in mind would have been probably too much with all that was going on at the time - not to mention last gen.
