And some of that is actually misleading. In some of the grimoire cards the traveler actually tried to leave like it did the fallen. But something stopped it And in the grimoire it makes hints that a warmind stopped the traveler from leaving And of course only warmind we know is Rasputin I know this because I listened to the planet destiny podcast about it was about 3-4 weeks ago they had some more guys on that basically knew everything Go check out planet destiny podcast Edit 1: I know it's just what the cards say That's why I said misleading and not that the cards were true Open to all theories. I just want some answers from bungo!

 • Actually the grimoire had already confirmed that the traveller chose to stay, the one where Rasputin shares his own thoughts on how the traveller didn't run or hide like he did. So many people jumped to the conclusion that the traveller was attacked by Rasputin because he had a contingency for such an event but by his own admission the final requirement was never met for that protocol to be activated.

 • Just as little side note, I think we can safely take this article as a nod to the fact that the traveler CHOSE to stay as opposed to rasputin "forcing" it. This quote is from the end of the game informer lore article
Several developers at Bungie endured me drilling them with questions on these topics, and also took the time to examine the article for accuracy prior to publication, for which I’m very appreciative
• The traveler never actually fled, or even tried to. We can read in the cards about protocols the warming has to -blam!- up the traveler, but the functions never get called.

 • the cards say Rasputin pretty much prepared weapons to stop the traveler but it never says he went through with it.

 • I agree that Rasputin stopped the traveler, I think I saw that in the grimoire, but we do know of another warmind, Charlemagne. I'm 100% on this because for the IKELOS Core Repair you have to do 3 warsats, 2 say RAS on them (Rasputin) and one says CHLM (Charlemagne)

 • There's also a warmind named Martel. IRL, Charles Martel was Charlemagne's grandfather.

 • While this is a possibility and I've seen these videos you're speaking of and also read other articles relating to rasputins alleged "attack" on the traveler, there isn't a solid answer yet. The fact that bungie is allowing game informer inside access to their studio I doubt they would let them publish such misinformation, we have to conclude that this is a nod to the fact that rasputin did NOT attack the traveler even though he DID have a plan to prevent travel from fleeing IF it attempted to. There are a few grimoire cards that mention this prevention but there isn't solid text saying Rasputin actually HAD to attack.

 • I just think bungo wants to keep it a mystery to be honest

 • I think there are so many good mysteries that as a community we are so impatient that we enjoy assuming our own version and interpretation which is pretty cool. But at the same time it's frustrating as hell because we want at least SOME answers.

 • Yes exactly, just a little info would be nice cause we really don't even know kinda what the darkness and the traveler are other than that they exists And we are about to start year 3... Ha

 • I wish they released a new strike every month (I'd settle with every 2 months), even if it wasn't that long, and at the end we learn a small but satisfying piece of the larger picture. They could hide a few secrets and give us the month to uncover everything and then repeat until destiny 2 comes out.

 • In a quote from gamescon they said since Saladin is moving to felwinter peek that open area up top will be used more regular for different events. So I hope more regular means on a 1-3 month rotation or something
