Back in the day, when I used to PC game, I would get a new game, and immediately check the network setup, because just about every game had different port requirements. Mostly XBL and PSN multiplayer games work off a standard set of ports to make it easy on games. While this is good for the non techie users, every so often we get a get that needs other ports open and people don't really know what to do about it.
Well Destiny works on non standard ports that may not be open on your setup, where as Titanfall, COD:BLOPS3 and BF4 work on standard XBL/PSN ports that are open already.
While I agree that dedicated server will go a long way to fixing the games issues with lag, cheating and detecting network manipulation, right now today thats what we don't have.
We have a P2P connection. If you did the bare minimum that Bungie required then your crucible experience would improve, along with everyone else experience in PvP.
