Can I get a last word guru's attention real quick? ( I enjoy using all primaries bro so chill ) I was playing on my lock last week and I was using TLW on drifter, so for that particular map I decided I'd throw good ole single point sling on as I lost a few engagements because I couldn't switch and ready quick enough. All is well. I jump into PVP this week on my hunter and move my last word over, I missed night stalker so I thought I'd play a few matches with shade. I realized I was winning a LOT more last minute engagements than usual, I never put perfect balance back on.... I had forgotten. I honestly don't feel that I've lost any primary battles with it lately due to a stability issue. If I lost the gun fight I usually feel I was genuinely outplayed. I feel that I'm just as accurate with the added benefit of switching more quickly and it really fits my play style. Maybe I'm not engaging at a far enough distance for it to matter, this is my assumption. Everyone is always going on about ALWAYS use perfect balance for this current iteration of the crucible. Anyone out there still rockin' single point sling? (If you're not on blade dancer )

  • I've always been terrible with TLW (Minus its OP reign in Y1 lol), I'm just extremely inaccurate with it for some reason.. I think the reason a lot of people like having more stability is because they fanfire instead of tapping it. Do you tap or fanfire?

  • 99% of the time I will tap it. Even when I tap it I will tap it rather quickly. If I'm not taking damage I will tap it calmly but with a sense of urgency is the best way I'd describe it. But it's just so situational, ya know? One of the only weapons that is never used the same way every time.

  • lol, I just did a match using it- I went negative 😂 I usually fanfire it because sometimes it jams when you tap it. I'll keep trying, see if I can really use it again. Maybe I'll try tapping, we'll see...

Lol keep working on it!! I think fanning creates too much bloom and really harms the aim. I'd only fan body shots at a shotgunner rushing in a straight line or a floating warlock...etc. I like to think of TLW like an engine without a governor. You can rev it as fast as you want, but you can blow the engine. That's where people mess up. It can fire so quickly but there's no reason to. It'll kill faster than anything else with moderately paced shots as opposed to the lost time by missed shots. Especially if shot 1 misses and shot 2 hits but is a body shot...etc as opposed to shots 1 and 2 hitting and both being precision and the third can be a wildly paced body shot...etc But it is sooo fun to fan fire it!!😁

  • I guess I should try it in a not so campy game mode lol. I'll attempt tapping, but like I said, my accuracy is awful with this gun 😂
