I'm confused. Primaries are meant to be the weakest considering we have unlimited ammo, next is special, then heavy. Primaries are fine just learn how to not walk into a sniper lane or a shotgun blast

    Yeah the issue is that we almost never run out of special - making it as frequently used - if not more - as primaries. I mean, no one is complaining about heavy despite them being way stronger than primaries - for the simple reason that you only have so much of that ammo. I do personally believe that the whole heavy spawn/round mechanic is utter shit though and needs a fix. It's incredibly disruptive to the flow of the match.

    Primaries are meant to be primaries, Specials are meant to be specials not primaries, this is the only reason universal remote was a junker in y1 and a beast in y2 (pardon the pun) Shotguns- remove rangefinder, bit harsh I know, but in a meta where nothing but TLW can stop a shot gunner at short range either primary TTKs need to be decreased or they need a little extra time to kill the shot gunner so it's either a blanket range nerf to shotguns, buff primaries or remove rangefinder. Also remove juggernaut, it takes away the skill element of shotguns completely. Snipers- remove hidden hand and unflinching, they make sniping too easy. Also, as long as they are in effective range, primary headshots should kick a sniper out of their scope so they are deterred from using them at close/ medium range bc only thing that could kick them out of scopes at a range would be scouts which seems fair enough. But anyway if bungie would simply buff primaries, we wouldn't need to make these changes. But the meta is what it is so this needs to happen.

  • Unless you count side arms and fusion rifles grenade trade or backing up then yes tlw is the only counter.

    Primaries should have more uses and special should be situational for the most part this is true but some players can use a sniper like its a shotgun what I want is a buff to primaries

    They're meant to be the most versatile and they should be your [b]primary[/b] method of killing. A special weapon is meant to be extremely effective in certain situations, more effective than primaries. Snipers for long, shotguns for close, fusions and sidearms for the distance in between. The problem now is that primaries don't reach far enough to challenge snipers, they don't kill fast enough to kill shotgunners running at you.

  • Well said...ever since primary weapons damage, range, ammo, perks all got nerfed snipers (especially) n shotguns became op...there are so little primary weapon kills in a game...most are teamshot or start or finished off w grenade... Worst thing in this meta is that u can dome a sniper w 2 headshots or bursts n they still can snipe u... There is no mechanic that makes sniping a little challenging... Shotguns got nerfed over n over n over, removed shot package, made switching to shotgun take longer, made readying shotgun take longer, and sprint lock all make shotguns more challenging to use...oh yea not to mention u have no maneuver n close distance to shotgun Snipers can switch faster, aim faster, snipe from long, medium, n even closer range...snipers body shot damage is still 167 to 181 on high impact snipers even though every other gun got its damage nerfed...that pretty much whole life bar from a body shot... they need to reward headshots instead of oops I missed my headshot...i still have plenty of time to switch to primary n one bullet kill u b4 any primary weapon can kill me... I understand that u can flank, toss grenade n get sniper off scope, etc...but this game has radar n the window to surprise a sniper is so small and primary weapons take so much longer than the window to surprise... Snipers are the only gun that hasn't been nerfed...one super mini nerf to zoom, AA, ammo... There are no mechanics to make a sniper hard to use, flinch is nothing really...the only thing a sniper doesn't have is radar but every gun (unless u have third eye) has no radar when ads n all u have to do is descope for a split second... Weapons take so long to kill n don't have the range so a hardscoper can camp far back n has plenty of time to react n take cover...a jade rabbit can do the job sometimes but most of the time a sniper can dome u inbetween shots or just take cover...

  • This^ primaries should be able to be quite successful especially against shotguns. Especially since so many use the conspiracy theory or party crasher. Specials indeed should be situational not used as a main. Too much are say even Titans or warlocks either hiding behind corners or charging you head on, this has needed addressed for months. Completely agree with you sir.

  • This right here! In year one ttk on primaries were capable of competing with special. You could more easily stop charging shotguns and kill a sniper at range before they can double body shot you. But special whores cry nerf primaries and now were in a campy special ruled mess.

  • Primaries TTK is perfectly fine, the only things in need of buffs is handcannon range (not TLW), and slow RoF autos.

  • Sure, if you want the game to be a boring campfest, where special weapons (two archetypes in particular; high impact/range shotguns and high impact snipers) are the meta. However, given that primary weapons are intended to be your go-to weapons, shouldn't they at least compete?
