Scouts are fine Low RoF autos and pulses need a bit of a buff Handcannons need a little improvement in accuracy as well as a small base range increase.

  • I wish they were brought back to their original state, pre TTK.

  • The Range on Hand Cannons are fine IMO just bump the accuracy up.

  • A few handcannons are all right, but there are some that have absolutely no range unless you get a perk that increases it. I don't think there should be guns that rely on certain perks to be reliable because then you miss out on potentially useful ones.

  • The main reason range is such a sought after perk for Hand Cannons is to improve the accuracy of Hand Cannons. Prior to the bloom penalty being introduced to the game Range was not considered a must have perk on a Hand Cannon.

  • Yes, I know how the range stat works. What I'm saying is, some guns have crappy base ranges (Since there was a blanket range nerf for handcannons) which is one of the reasons so many people want more now, it affects so many things: Damage falloff, AA, How much the screen zooms in...The issue is that it has become a necessity (At least it has on some, and that's only if you actually care about small stats like that). I also think they should decrease bloom's duration because there are times when the gun is out of animation and you still get ghost bullets. (Which is what I meant by accuracy) That's what I mean when I say they should work on them separately.. Also, I'm not sure if what I said made sense with your comment as I don't really get what you meant in the first place.

  • I was saying to just get rid of the Bloom penalty altogether. If a Hand Cannon accurately was able to place their shots at the pace their Rate of Fire suggest then players wouldn't seek out Range stats for Hand Cannons. Look at The Last Word for an example, crap range but has the perception of being accurate. As of right now The Last Word is a popular Hand Cannon in spite of its crap range stat.

Okay, now I understand what you're saying. EDIT: TLW is still popular because it does perfectly fine on these CQ maps, the only difference between it now and Y1 is that you can't kill people in scout rifle range. lol

  • You don't think that TLW being less effected by bloom than other Hand Cannons has anything to do with its popularity?

  • No because it's fanfire, people don't use it like they use other handcannons (I would think...).

  • Players tend to tap fire TLW while aiming, essentially making the Fanfire perk useless. Either way it doesn't change the fact that TLW is popular in spite of its horrible range stat.

  • But it's the fanfire that allows it to shoot so fast. It's essentially full auto without the regular cool down. Bloom wouldn't work on a weapon like that since you'd most likely miss every shot. I don't think it's popular for not having bloom because it's not even in the same category as regular handcannons (That's just my opinion).. We can agree that TLW will most likely continue to be popular.

  • The Last Word is in the fastest firing archetype for Hand Cannons. Fanfire does nothing to effect the cooldown of bloom on the weapon. Bungie made a change to Hand Cannons with the last weapon tuning patch that lessens the effect of bloom on low range Hand Cannons. Due to The Last Word having a low range stat it also benefits from the change as well.

TLW and The Revelator have the same RoF. You can shoot (Whilst tapping) TLW faster than the revelator. Therefore they should theoretically have the same amount of bloom (EDIT: Which takes affect* the moment you fire), but they don't, TLW can and will hit the shot faster. They changed the affect of bloom because the animation was done before the cool down was, TLW was majorly affected because the fanfire makes it shoot faster than its own archetype. So there was an unbelievable number of ghost bullets. The reason I don't think TLW is popular for not being affected by bloom the same way the other guns are, is because it's not a question of whether bloom should have a major effect on it. If it did, TLW would become really difficult to use since it's main feature is its extremely high RoF. Also, I wasn't talking about bloom when I mentioned the cool down before, I was talking about RoF.

  • The Rate of Fire of TLW is not why it has less bloom, its because its range is so short. So no just because The Revelator has the same RoF as TLW does not mean it will be effected by bloom in the same manner. To be clear bloom still exist on TLW its just not a severe as with other Hand Cannons due to its low range stat. When I was mentioning TLW and its RoF I was comparing it to the other Hand Cannons that you typically see in Crucible which would be the Eyasluna archetype. All Hand Cannons can kill in 3 shots (exceptions for Reactive Reload or LITC Hand Cannons).

  • Okay, that's on me for assuming the bloom percentage was partially determined by RoF. What I should have said then was the lack of bloom (And yes I know it's there, I realize the way I've been talking about it is as if it's not. To be safe I'm just going to continue in the same manner but we both know I just mean it's not as effective 👍) doesn't matter since the range is so low anyway. To be honest I think we've circled back to some other point in the conversation (Something about the lack of range) but I'm not really sure, it could just be déjà vu... I'm just going to agree that TLW will most likely always be popular and that what I said about RoF affecting their decisions with bloom was wrong.
